Whoa! When was the last time you were on the OB?!?

You still got that pic of me with that "huge" boar?

My 2021 GMC Sierra's 8 speed transmission went out at 71,000 miles. Luckily I had bought an extended warranty for the first time in my life.

I doubt you could get that many in it.

26 gun safe is about a 5-6 long gun safe.

Both bucks in first video are Winn Parish shooters.

"Little guy" in second video would be a shooter if I just wanted to be done for the day.

Yeah, but is it heavy?

Was?

it would take 3-5 days to drive from Paraquay to Albuquerque (in this world of no borders, no traffic and no speed laws - at least according to AI).

What?

It is over 5,000 air miles from Paraguay to Albuquerque. Nevermind the Darian Gap. It is probably over 7,000 miles by roads, WHERE THERE ARE ROADS. It is 3,600 miles from Albuquerque to even get to the Darian Gap.

The whole Vegas poker setup seemed stupid and like wasted time. But I guess it’s just to show they will go all out to cater to the 12. I could also do without huge chunks of the show being in a foreign language with no subtitles.

World building and interesting. Obviously they are continuing to watch Carol. As mentioned, all foreign language bits had subtitles.

The absolute non giving of fricks by the French dude is annoying (and the others as well).

I think he is a representation of our base instincts. He seems to be ever so slightly getting bored with the illusion.

quote:

I can’t figure out what Hispanic storage dude is doing with the radio. Is he just checking all frequencies looking for a signal or message of some kind? I assume so but that seems like a fairly simple explanation for something they’ve shown so much…seems like it’s more important than just that.

He is doing exactly that. Methodically scanning the frequencies to see if he can contact anyone. Obviously it is important to the story and not just a character quirk and it basically put a flashing neon light on 8.613 with the double question marks.

I think we also learned in this episode that they aren't procreating. So, this is an extinction event. Didn't they say around 100,000 people die every day? That is lower than the figure today of 150k-170k. Obviously with no wars or crime it would be lower, but I think that also means we learn they will not procreate. Right now they have a surplus population to maintain the earth but as that population ages and declines I would expect that things will start to decay.

Other questions:

How is Paraguayan storage guy going to cross the Darian Gap without the help of the infected? Driving from Paraguay to Albuquerque in that car is going to be a bit of a task, especially if he is going to have to push start it every time.

If the infected population is trying to survive, which they are as evidenced by their hoarding every possible resource to consume, why wouldn't they take the food resources (human bodies and other food) with them when abandoned Albuquerque? That's a major town full of resources to just let waste.

Also, wouldn't Carol's rage in fact be beneficial to the infected population as a whole? It reduces the consumption of "food" while providing more "food" for the remaining population.

I think an important part of the story is Carol and Paraguay guy would know so much more about what is going on if they would simply ASK the infected questions.
I saw him play West Monroe. He did not impress to my untrained eye. Got outrun to the endzone by the WM rb that just signed with ULM.

He may have had an interception. WM qb threw a duck up in the air that was surrounded by 3 Catholic players. He may have been the one to catch that one.

Yeah, if only West Monroe had gotten him the ball more this year. The broken wrist didn't help.

Tigerdeacon Jr. reporting from the signing ceremony.
Smart to show that he would still want them to win even after he left.

we find out that the protagonist was originally a female

Raban is not the protagonist of the book. The part that Carol read was from the the female protagonist. Thus the mostly female readership. The Raban character was supposed to be a female.
So you're saying we might get some ducks in Louisiana?
Whole lot of low post counts (alters?) talking junk to OB regulars. I wouldn't listen to them.

re: Drone Recovery for Deer

quote:

We have healthy populations of deer and turkey in spite of poor predator management programs in the State. In the early 90s we had 17 million folks hunting fewer public acres in La, we have over a million fewer hunters. Like an 8 percent reduction. that is over 40 million fewer tax dollars than we would have had, most of it going directly to state agencies to manage land and game

Maybe the decline in numbers is due to a change in the sport since the early 90s?

Now you got to be able to post your kill on social media and if a young person kills a deer he is proud of he is castigated for not letting it grow another year. I think deer hunting with drones is a poor video game and if you turn the sport into that you are going to keep losing hunters.
