It is a staggering cost for so little. I think there are a lot of other reasons Putin ordered the invasion. He thought it would be easy, and bringing Ukraine back into the fold would be a victory that would secure his place in history. Or maybe the increasing prosperity of Ukraine was an unpleasant contrast to the increasing poverty of the Russian people.

If I sleep until 5am, I consider that a successful night. I'd like to sleep more but most days I don't feel tired.
