How many do we have that would start for most of the teams in the league

We need a house cleaning. Fire Loomis and everyone who evaluates talent. Get rid of all the aging players with bad contracts. Replace anyone who shouldn't be starting.

Get as many draft picks from trades as we can. Tank for Manning or whoever. If Moore doesn't show flashes of brilliance, get rid of him too.

What would it take to be contenders?

If Gayle Benson woke up tomorrow and decided she wanted to win a Super Bowl before she went to the Owners Meeting in the Sky, what would it take to win? How long would it take?

Fire Mickey Loomis? Tank for the number one pick next year? Could Kellen Moore ever win the big one?

I'd guess it would take at least five years if she made every possible move and had a general manager that made the right decisions.

I find it funny that people always say this before any of these guys ever step foot on the field for us

I don't disagree but at least we haven't made some of the glaring mistakes we've made in the past: small school guys with potential, trading up and giving up significant picks for guys that eventually never worked out.

I no longer believe that. We get what the lobbyists pay for.

Well not yet at least:

I'm pleasantly surprised any time the Saints don't do something monumentally stupid.

Somehow I'd be happy with any of these guys. We're in a good spot.

I would too, unfortunately Mickey will probably trade next year's second round pick to move up four spots and take a developmental project from a DIV III school who had a knee injury.

Meh so many other players already do that

There is a long list of players and coaches, past, current and future, that have made the Saints look stupid. And most of them are employed by the Saints.

I don't think drafting linemen is the problem. I think drafting in general is the problem.

The Saints just can't get out of their own way with bad decisions.
