I was in marching band. And will confirm it was always hot as frick wearing thick uniforms performing at parades in September and October. Not to mention some of the instruments can weigh a good amount. The instrument I had probably weighed 10-15 pounds. But nothing like carrying a big arse tuba, bass or snare drum. I had a lot of respect to anyone that has to lug those things around. We didn't have to wear gloves. But did have hats made of leather or some other hot material. Our pants were black, and made of some thick material. Our director was pretty strict. Everyone had to wear matching black shoes. I didn't have black shoes, so I covered mine in black tape. Some parades we performed at every year had to be at least a mile long.
