I'm OK with the removal from the team. Sounds warranted.

I'm happy that this hasn't been a media distraction for 18 months. Something is working for justice to work in this fashion (innocent until proven guilty). I don't like raking kids over the coals just to have something dismissed or dropped.

Yep.

I’m not entirely worried about it

Who knows what happened but what he did is never OK. Shame for him that this is going to follow him for the rest of his life. All that talent and a stupid decision puts his career in jeopardy. Truly hope he learns and grows from this.

All things considered, a young woman was assaulted which should just not ever happen. Hope it doesn’t end up defining Holloman for the rest of his life but he gets to carry the woman beater title for the foreseeable future and a girl is going to have a hard time trusting men for the rest of her life. Sad, avoidable situation if he would have been a man and walked away.

I know we’re not labeling people nowadays, but man just watching and listening to Holloman, he does not seem like the type.

Crazy. No doubt there is no room for that type of behavior on our team though

Facing his mom might be as bad for Holloman as getting kicked off the team. Oh well, a place is cleared to add one more great player. UGA will be OK.

Those writing this off as next man up should consider two things here:

1. Holloman is the only receiver who has shown any ability to be a consistent SEC contributor on our roster.

2. With his absence we return a TOTAL production of 17 catches, 220 yards.

Our WR position already didn’t look championship caliber and it just got a hell of a lot worse.

Said this in response to another similar post, but ANYONE can have a bad moment, hour, or day...

If the story went down as described, this was a female D1 athlete who was by at least some accounts hitting him in the face... He reacted poorly, and he is going to pay the price for it...

Hopefully it's a life lesson for him, and every other athlete on this team... You can have the best heart and the best intentions, but if you frick up, there are consequences... think long and hard before you react.

Auburn is getting a good one...

Obviously tongue in cheek...

No excuses or second chances for abusing women. Grow the frick up J.J...

We've got:

Simmons
Blount
Jackson
Robertson
Pickens
Blaylock
Cager (good grab in hindsight)
Bush
Landers
Tongue

Could maybe flex Cook out some.

Good talent generally but would like more experience obviously. It would help to get a big year out of Woerner.

There is a whole lot of “average” on that list. Pickens has potential, but I don’t really trust our offensive brain trust to use newcomers at Receiver. We will probably make Pickens wait a year so he can learn all the blocking plays.

We are now officially criminally thin at WR.

Gone:
Hardman
Ridley
Godwin
Holloman
Nauta
That little transfer dude

Amazing.

Not sure we have much of a choice. Not sure who else we have to go up and get that back shoulder fade Jake loves so much.

ETA: We desperately need to get some kind of downfield threat out of Robertson.

Robertson hasn’t forgotten how to get open deep. Our genius offensive minds just determined that we needed to not throw to him so that he could spend a year learning how to block. It was asinine then and is asinine now.

I think you’re being way too doom and gloom about this. If all we had to be optimistic about our receiving corps was Holloman’s experience then we were fricked anyway; he was a solid but not ground breaking receiver.

We have too much talent and depth to assume that we are screwed now.

Our problems at receiver and DL actually mirror each other. Low talent level compared to other positions, and not much evidence to date that our coaches know how to get more from less.

Agreed, one player won’t make or break this team. This definitely hurts but from the looks of it there was no other option- keeping him would have hurt us more with the distraction besides the fact it obviously wouldn’t be the right thing to do. Next man up. Dudes in the WR gotta be hungry knowing pretty much every spot is up for grabs. Someone will rise to the top.

You’re more negative than ever. You ok?

Think we have three 5* WRs on the squad and a lot of young promise.

Glad Holloman is gone. No place for this on our team. And I really liked the kid too. One of the last players I would expect to do this.
