re: Stetson Bennett will pass for 4000 yards this year

Taking out his bottom single game performance of 116 yards (UK) he did in fact cover the 4k in 14 games. OOF

Edit: heard it's bama if arch goes elsewhere, otherwise it'll be Carolina..kid is special his arm talent is crazy...but it's dependent on his MLB draft slot and if nil can compete with his signing bonus from mlb
Haven't heard anything on a most likely destination for him honestly. Arch is assumed to end up in Athens at this point with the folks that typically have a good read on the situation... #recruitingisofcoursestillfluid. As we said above... would much rather see him go west and get out of the SEC if he sticks with football... Alternatively, go enjoy MLB. He's definitely a good one.

~5 year old numbers, but Women's shooty hoops doesn't appear to have been close to a top 3 sport for the Aggies in 2017:

re: I think our 2022 offense
Posted by fibonaccisquared on 4/20/22 at 11:04 pm
Even if it is *our* best offense in modern history (unlikely, but let's go with it for a second)... it is *highly unlikely* to be anything remotely resembling some of the impressive CFB offenses of the past 10 years or so.
FWIW, Glory, UGA Podcast host Tyler seems to feel like this will likely be our best offense under Kirby, and possibly better than any of the Richt offenses as well IIRC... I'm not on that page, but I can at least understand how someone could make the leap with Todd Monken doing Monken things and the TE room looking incredible. But it's definitely laughable to try and compare this year's offense to last year's defense. All time top tier D unit in CFB vs *maybe* a top O unit at a program not known for blowing the scoreboard away.

that may be true... Who was the best BB coach you have had in the past 20-25 years?
Harrick had the program playing at a high level prior to the NCAA snafu... unfortunately the program bent over and cooperated instead of forcing the NCAA's hand. Didn't help that Harrick already was carrying baggage before he came to Athens though.
Re: your question as to "which half"... presumably it would be pretty obvious that he was referencing the bottom half. Moving from worst in the league to somewhere in the middle would be a hell of an accomplishment in one transfer portal cycle and an incomplete recruiting cycle. I'm not sure I quite share the same level of optimism, but keeping Oquendo and landing the transfers that we have is definitely a step in the right direction.
White's bigger test is going to be can he actually get players to improve over time. Crean's teams never seemed to improve in key areas... sloppy offensive possessions in key moments, high rate of turnover, defensively turrible...

I'm with you on this one Rig.
I believe his explanation was that he thought he was shooting someone he knew but was mistaken... He turned himself in fwiw... It was a dumb mistake but it honestly could have been much worse if he either hit someone in the eye or another sensitive area OR if someone simply saw what looked like a weapon and reacted accordingly. Hopefully can get the legal side of things sorted out with minimal long term impact to his life (I know folks who picked up felony armed assault charges for firing airsoft guns from a vehicle...)

Haha. Take a look at Twitter. Insiders feud between Graham and Brooks. They all seemingly get their info from similar sources and plagiarism accusations getting thrown out.

I just don't care for Stet as a person, he seems like a "me first" kinda guy.
lolwut?! The guy who: came in as a PWO, left and came back when we were pretty desperate after JF left, was told that he was never going to start for us, came off the bench to save our butts in 2020 and played until he was sidelined with an injury, was told again that he was 3rd string all offseason, only to get thrust into the starting role and save our butts again all the way to a natty?
Just confirming... That's the guy you think is "me first"?
He has a chip on his shoulder, absolutely... And justifiably so IMHO. With that said, sounds like he may have been partying and celebrating last year a little too much so a message was sent, and based on practice reports, also received. That's great news for us, as I just don't want someone else being given the job by default... If someone other than Stet takes the job, I want them to have to claw it from his hands.

Congrats on the pickup. I think reclassifying for Overton is a mistake... well... maybe not a mistake, but simply put... he wants to be in the league in 3 seasons. This starts that clock earlier, great. But he's not SEC ready for this season, and there's no guarantee that he is next either. Seems high risk, low reward to invest NIL + package deal for his brother for potentially 1 year of quality football from him, but maybe he sticks around for a 4th season and it pans out. Will be rooting for him so long as we aren't playing you guys.

You are goddamned right I’ll be pulling for Stet to help us get another one. If Stet gets hurt or loses the job, I’ll feel bad for Stet and pull for the next guy up. It seems pretty simple really. Too bad we have so many horrible fans.
Peter... he asked you a pretty specific question.
quote:
Are you such a fan boy of Stet that if Kirby goes another direction you’re gonna be this year’s kunt?
He didn't just ask you if you were pulling for Stet... he asked what you would do if Kirby went another direction. Sounds like the 2 of you *are* agreeing... It really is too bad we have so many horrible fans. :casty:
Now can everyone quit the bullshite and let's just see how this all plays out? Ideally, it's in the best interest of the team for Stetson to get his shite together and play well right now. He's got the most experience and the ability to manage the schedule and put us back into the SECCG. If the job is going to another QB for any reason, I want it to be because they fricking earned it, not because he couldn't stay focused on the task at hand.

Carson Beck scares me the way Stetson scared me coming into 2021.
Nothing about the 2022 QB room situation fills me with great confidence, but hopefully whatever turmoil goes on helps to settle things and no one walks away with a big head about their greatness. Need someone prepared to put in the work this year as offense is potentially going to need to carry defense a bit early it would seem, and while Oregon is a very winnable first opponent, it's not a cakewalk either.

More or less doesnt confirm shite. There are plenty of normal things a qb who just won a national title could be doing to make things appear different. Talking engagements, massive fame to the point that being on campus or around town is almost impossible, nil obligationa etc ... Thats going to effect you and your schedule, we would be better off to accept that.
Shame on anyone spreading innuendo about the young man.

Apparently Beck is getting tons of reps with the 1's and stet may be feeling the pressure. Fall camp could be interesting
For those that read it, Talk'n Dawgs has a comment up from SoFl more or less confirming that Stet hasn't been holding up to the expectations of a veteran leader (ie. Kirby's comments were specific, not general)... both on the field and in class. Going to be interesting to see how it all shakes out for sure.
