It's actually 14 more Q1 games. All remaining SEC games plus we have two more road games against top 30 opponents non-conference. 30-something Q1 games before the SECT even starts. That's insane. This sh*t is getting old. Every sport, every year we have one of the toughest, if not the toughest schedule. I'm getting sick of the "but look who we lost to" arguments every damn year. I just want to drink some beer and enjoy some wins.

Could just do what we do: schedule exactly nobody during non-con and push all your chips to the “gorilla ball, strikeouts, and defense” side of the table during conference play. It’s been working out so far these past 3 years and when we are on, it’s a lot of fun to watch :nana: downside is you have to pretend that beating up on Queens College in March is anything worth getting excited about.

Baseball Resumes as of April 20th

Posted by tylerdurden24 on 4/20/26 at 5:09 pm
Figured it would be worth looking at where everyone stands in mid-April with only 4 SEC series to go.

Reminder that this year the committee will do things a bit different:
- In addition to RPI, they will also start looking at KPI and DSR when reviewing resumes this year
- They will seed teams 1-32, not just 1-16. So, we should know who got the toughest of the 2 seeds but I am curious how they'll square it away if, say, the 16th seed is in the same conference as the 17th seed (assuming they attempt to do a snake-style seeding)

I got to speak with Pitt a few times when he was at UGA. Most authentic, wonderful person. Will always be a fan of his and of Arkansas for letting him have a chance to be a HC; 20 years ago, he could’ve been a 10-15 year longevity guy at Arkansas because of his ability to communicate with families and his players (back when relationships were the main thing that mattered). Just happened to get his opportunity as the worm turned with NIL and the portal which mitigated the natural advantages he brought to the role.

Enjoyment depends a lot on 1) how much fan service and cameos move the needle for you and 2) familiarity enough with both Loki and the X Men to put pieces together from the TVA, the good, alioth, and Cassandra nova

The point being RPI isn’t an end all be all in the process.

Case in point: Georgia is now 18th in RPI with 8 Q1 wins and a 39 SOS.

USC is ranked ahead of us at 15 with 0 Q1 and a 47 SOS.

A&M at 8 with 5 Q1 and a 35 SOS.

Nebraska just jumped 13 spots in the RPI to 14 after sweeping USC this weekend. They have 9 Q1 wins and a 56 SOS.

It’s a metric that attempts to rank teams without bias but it’s not a complete picture nor is it infallible.

Both Oregon and Southern Miss hosted last year with 20+ RPIs at the end of the regular season.

Georgia is on track for ~19 wins in conference. We hve road series wins in College Station, Starkville, and Fayetteville. We also have an ELO of 5 and a DSR of 8. Barring a total collapse over the next 4 series, we’re going to host and be a top 8 seed.

The article doesn’t mention the $2500 a night Star Wars hotel that no one went to. Disney lost their arse off on that.

The cringe promo video for the hotel that Disney inexplicably made, reviewed, and was like “oh yeah, this is gonna sell it” is among the worst things to ever come out of the parks division.

I don’t put any stock into a thing Fox News has to say about pretty much anything but they’re totally spot on about this; Kennedy sucks and destroyed what used to be a tentpole franchise

Is it really that damn easy to get arrested in Athens?

Yes. Regular students get hit with MIP and ticky tack charges downtown constantly. Cops are notorious dicks toward the general student population before you even get to their resentment for the athletes. Athens also has the distinction of having 3 overlapping police departments working with or on top of each other (plus Oconee County on the west side).

I like to shite on uga as much as anyone but a crime that requires less than $50 bail is nonsense.

If you go back through most of the arrests in the past couple of years, many of them fall into this category. A vast majority could just be basic misdemeanor citations but the cops choose to arrest and book for what have been as low as $15 bonds.

UGA currently sits at 19th in RPI lol. Texas, Ole Miss, Auburn, Bama and Florida are all top 8. A&M and OU are top 16.

RPI isn’t a direct analogue for how national seeding is determined. New to the process?

So he moved back and to the right but that wasn’t enough at 1am on. A public side walk so they arrested him? The frick?

Only team that seems to actually pitch well consistently is Florida and their bats are schizophrenic. Georgia is their polar opposite which works to our advantage because the rest of the league can’t pitch consistently

UGA, Texas, and A&M are all national seeds right now.

Auburn, Florida, and maybe Bama are all hosts.

Everyone else except Mizzou and Carolina with LSU and Oklahoma on the bubble are getting in the field

If the season ended right now, the SEC would have five of the top eight national seeds and seven of the host spots overall. Oddly, the team currently leading the SEC wouldn’t be one of them. SEC baseball is ratfricking insane.

Wait what?
