My concern is that over use of the aquifer under East Arkansas and Memphis is already a problem. The more water that gets pumped out for data centers the worse the situation is likely to get.

Memphis is probably the worst managed city I've ever lived near and that covers some ground trust me. It is ripe for the picking when it comes to someone with the resources that Musk controls.

When I was a kid and a young man in the 60s & 70s l remember listening to the LSU game broadcasts at night after the Alabama which was usually played during the day in those years. And during the week occasionally listening to Hap ?Laude?, then Buddy D, et al. So LSU was my second favorite team.

And it seems they were the only SEC team besides Alabama, along with UTn, who would frequently play big time opponents from outside the conference. They seemed to be the only program beside Alabama that had much success outside the SEC. Even if they lost they would usually put forth a heroic effort and make the SEC proud. And Alabama owes them one big time for upsetting, I think it was Ark, after the 1965 season in the Cotton Bowl, enabling Alabama’s defeat of massive Nebraska in the Orange Bowl to be for the NC later that night. That was the first year that the AP concluded their poll after the bowls. LSU and Alabama were usually much smaller than the corn fed midwest, western or northern boys. In that Orange Bowl Alabama had 1 lineman at 205, the rest were under 200, while Neb averaged 240 or so. It just made their efforts seem more significant.

I also enjoyed my interactions as a teenager with the LSU fans in Legion Field in the 60s and early 70s. I’ve also had several friends from Louisiana whom I enjoyed thoroughly.

All of that to say this: this board has completely changed my attitude toward LSU football. I realize an anonymous internet message board is not the full reflection of a state but the mass of LSU jerks, WT, et al, on this board, it seems especially towards Alabama, is incredibly disappointing. Maybe since this is your board you feel like we’ve invaded your territory ??.

OTOH, though I’m not a great judge of this forum since I don’t visit often, but the OU posters I’ve seen here have exceeded all expectations. They are relatively humble and polite, especially for a message board and even more in light of their great gridiron accomplishments. Actually, IMO, most of the other schools are also commendable, including AU.

Utah has good skiing but most of the state is a desert and you can’t catch largemouth in Great Salt Lake.

There is nothing in the north that matches good bourbon, Cajun food or good barbecue.
