Thank God for women's gymnastics and softball.
Not very good clock management or poise in the last 2 minutes. Got the W, though.
I never said Oklahoma was Alabama. Go back and read it again. Everything I said was true.
Alabama didn't lose to a "dwellar." Alabama lost to one of the top programs in college football history that just happens to be having a down year.

This year's team is kinda like Bear's last year when the Tide went 8-4 and won in the Liberty Bowl, his last game.

Hire Bobby Petrino and make him and Venables co-head coaches. They essentially have two head guys at Arkansas.

Anyone that's paid any attention to this series since 2000 knows it's largely been a period of OU owning Texas. I don't see the Sooners winning this year , but it's OU-Texas, so anything can happen.

Here's a favorite moment.

Saban hates what's happened to the game. It's an intolerable situation for him, and Venables isn't going anywhere.
Well, I don't either, except that is how a lot of northerners view us. They see us as a defeated nation. Still a bunch of Confederates, and we didn't help that much. Ole Miss, for example, still sold the Rebel flag in Carl Coers on campus in the 1980's.

All this proves is what we’ve already known: Oklahoma is in no way, shape, size, form or fashion, southern. I doubt you fit in any better than Missouri.

Culturally, this isn't correct. Southeastern Oklahoma is quite Southern because it's a cotton producing area that was settled by a significant number of migrants from Southern states after the Civil War. Western Oklahoma is more culturally Western, as you might expect.

The the poster you responded to is not totally incorrect, either. Shelby Foote talked about that in the Ken Burns series The Civil War . He said the South is unique in that since it lost that war, it's psychologically carried that burden ever since. You can't get more Southern than Shelby Foote.
I haven't learned anything new because I grew up in Tennessee.
Not a great time to be talking much when you're the new guy. Even if you're a blue blood. Let your play do the talking.

his is what I don't get. OU is the better program. Why does Utx get all the fanfare?

It's always been that way, but it's worse now because they beat Alabama and have had some success. They had a better roster last year and still lost. Kinda like Tennessee always losing to Florida even when it has a better roster.
It's a tall drink, but I think we can win 9, lose 3.

So what does he know about the SEC? The LSU fans went to kindergarten, but we don’t consider them scholars.

I reckon time will tell, won't it?

Why should we listen to this guy?

Well, he was a two time All-American, won a Butkus award and played in the NFL. Surely he knows something about football.
