What's sad is that even without Baton Rouge and NOLA, Louisiana still had the 2nd highest homicide rate in 2025. Those 2 cities still haven't participated in the FBI UCR.

I don’t understand the need to denigrate other states. We live in the best country this world has ever seen.
Sure, there are areas in EVERY state that are undeniably dangerous and rundown.
But on the flip side, there are many more areas in each state that are beautiful and attractive.
Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma . . . I’d be proud to live in each one!
Sure, there are areas in EVERY state that are undeniably dangerous and rundown.
But on the flip side, there are many more areas in each state that are beautiful and attractive.

And our university still has more athletic success than most ranked above us, it’s a good thing we don’t have our shite together because if we ever do y’all are screwed…. Now back to my cultural distractions…. Checks calendar… Teal season will be here before you know it.

I'm from there. Back in the late 1900's, it was actually thriving. With the decline of coal mining, everyone had to relocate to live. Beautiful country, just very poor.

I’ve worked in all those states. I’d take any southern states over those places.
