Assault weapons, a.k.a. automatic weapons have been banned in this country for many decades. AR15’s are not assault or automatic weapons. But they do look scary to dims. Since they evidently don’t want semi automatic weapons I guess they need to ban most pistols and numerous other long guns. AR15’s are used in a very small number of criminal activities.
