Worst people? I've always found the people in Louisiana, especially around Lafayette, to be some of the most kind, generous and gracious people anywhere in this country.
It's the most culturally interesting state. New Orleans is the most European city in the U.S. Louisiana has its problems, but the people are not one of them.
On the other hand, I found the people in Nashville to be a bunch of stuck up noveau riche assholes. On the day my son graduated from Vanderbilt Law School, I'd never seen so much snobbery in one place.

Problem with these lists is the "top" states get an influx of people that screw everything up as a result. Colorado used to be nice. Before the dark times. Before the Californians.

The problem with Louisiana is that there are places I love and then places I actually hate. I don't have the situation with the others on the list. Kentucky is beautiful but it gets too cold
How dare you make me defend the Hogs, but NWA might be the prettiest spot in all of SEC country.

Yeah it seems cold weather states are always highly ranked but that would be a killer for me.

NW Arkansas may not even be as pretty as SW Arkansas...
That being said... The mountains in east Tennessee, eastern Kentucky, North Georgia, NE Alabama are nicer than the ones in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma... but I'm glad we have them... because no other states in the middle of the country have mountains at all besides South Dakota.
