Drink + NIL is perfect timing for Mizzou. He’s so young we maybe looking at a 40 year playoff streak.

We are the only FBS team in a state that produces usually 2-3 5 stars, 8-10 4 stars and 10 more P2 quality players. When you consider the transfer portal now for ESL kids wanting to get back home, Missouri is going to be a permanent pest in the SEC.

Not really, the state of Missouri has produced 4 five stars and 34 four stars over the last five years, way lower than you suggest.

Moreover, last year Missouri signed only a few of these elite players and this year have only 1 verbal commitment from the group.

Bama has more talent. And next year they'll have experience. It's close but Bama has the edge.

I'd rank Alabama 1A and GA 1B right now. Taking into account Sabans age as you mentioned but you can't discount his winning against Ga.

Winning a game does not equal current situation. You’re 2 miracles away from not having a championship in 5 seasons and 6 years. Sorry to say but your best player, Koy Moore, is out for the playoffs. Saban has never gone 6 years without a natty. He’ll always be good but Joe Paterno was usually good and he was what, 85?

Where would you rank New Mexico State?

Based on our experience this year, I'd say conference champs

Arkansas can always use more talent, but I’d argue Arkansas’ problem has been coaching or lack there of.

Head to head victories mean very little in the trend direction of a program...

Freeze was the best OM coach since Vaught

Exactly. Kiffin has been better than Freeze. Take away freezes wins against bama and he’s David Cutcliffe.

We have no choice but to keep Napier until at least halfway through next season. Have you seen our 2024 schedule?

Napier is intentionally sinking UF because he knows he's done next season.

Smile
Bert
Chad
Pittman

The 2012 team was ranked top 10 before the season began.

Smile got them lazy and out of shape.

That 2015 team had plenty of talent as 12 players from that team are on NFL depth charts.

But it was Berted away.

Chad had teams good enough to be bowl eligible but Chad was more interested in taking helicopter rides to go watch his son play on Friday nights.

Nor did bother taking the rest of his family to move in with him in Fayetteville.

Arkansas began the season ranked top 20 before the 2022 season began.

Arkansas lost four games by a combined nine points and that included an embarrassing loss at home to Liberty.

Arkansas was predicted to finish 5th in the West for the 2023 season and returning one of best RBs in the nation and one of the best QBs in the SEC.

Arkansas finished below expectations and finished dead last in the West with by far the worst offense in the SEC.

You dudes are hilarious. You were ready to fire his arse after a few games this season and now he’s the next coming,,,,haha.

The players stepped up and took control, will they be there next year? He will no doubt.

Just enjoy this year while you have it.

You do realize that only one OU fan has posted in this thread prior to me posting to point that out.

I'd put SC down at the bottom above Vanderbilt.

they had a losing season with a solid QB who is leaving. Have had solid players hit the portal this year and last.

Odds are high they will have another losing season next year and Beamer is fired.

No. We're not fried icecream, but that's putting us at chopped liver. We've been a donor program the last several years.

BTW, Stoops has been winning 7-8 games each year with an occasional 10. That is our ceiling and most of us know it. That still isn't 14 in this conference.

Mizzou is going to be very good next year. Especially on offense.

Is Schrader back next year or not? That has a huge impact on whether or not Missouri's offense takes a step back. It's hard to know with the whole "COVID Eligibility Year" stuff...but here is what I see for Missouri:

Rushing - Running backs had a total of 1,506 yards. 100% of those yards were from Senior Transfers Schrader and Peat.

Receiving - Looks much better with leading receiver Burden coming back. Out of a total of 3,282 yards receiving, Seniors only accounted for 915 yards receiving.

So, if Schrader and Peat both go, they run the risk of becoming one dimensional. If they return, or can back fill their productivity, then they are positioned well for another good offensive season.

In fact, the talent gap of high school talent signed is large enough to question why Bama's is not even more dominant than they have been the last three years.

OL play - fixed
DL play - improved
QB injuries / development - fixed
AVG/poor OC/DC - fixed
Decline @ RB/WR - improved

Mizzou had a great season this year. But it’s hard to recruit at Mizzou- current recruiting class is ranked #28 which is good enough for 14th in the league. Mizzou does about as well as any program working with what they’ve got. But what they’ve got makes it hard to ever get to a point to be consistently competitive in the SEC.

What Mizzou has “got” is the second most All SEC selections in the conference and pros all over the field.

Your going to have stop looking at HS recruiting as the end all be all when the portal exists (where Mizzou just landed the #1 CB btw)

Mizzou will be very good again next year with what they have returning and the defensive pieces they will land in the portal
