Mizzou will drag nuts on OU. Just like 2010 when #1 OU came to BOCOMO

All time OU vs Mizzou
OU 66-22-5

Last 10
OU 10-2

Last 20
OU 18-2

7. Mizzou: Coach Drink has Mizzou humming. He doesn't appear to be on anyone's radar to be poached away and has his players believing. His recruiting has been elite and the team should be excellent again next season with many key starters returning. I disagree with the sentiment that Mizzou is difficult to recruit - there is plenty of in-state talent to build a core around and no in-state or regional competition for recruits.

8. Ole Miss: I just don't believe Kiffin will stay put long. He never has and I don't think that's magically changed. Assuming he did, I'd move Ole Miss up a few spots. But this is the same guy who ditched Tennessee the second ol' USC came calling.

You really believe what you typed. Kiffin left Tenn for his dream job and got hit with sanctions from the previous regime a few months after he took it. Regardless he was fired at Oakland, left UT after a year because of his dream job and was fired from there. Left Bama to get another HC job. Left that job for Ole Miss and is getting ready to start on his 5th season.

I only quoted Mizzou in your post because “Drink” has you rolling and no one is coming after him, while Kiffin is mentioned for every job possible. “Coach Drink’s” recruiting is far from elite. Your best player is a walk on and since he’s been the coach you average out a composite class of 39th

Hey man, we have an OM-Mizzou alliance through the end of the year.

Ok then, Dabo. Have you forgotten the portal? Drink has said high school recruiting was going to take a secondary position to transfers who can have immediate impact. Mizzou does very well there. Your list is wrong.

Good thing 247 does a HS ranking, transfer portal ranking, and combines the two for a composite. Which is good for 30th for the class signing in two weeks

Based on these stats, Auburn is a basement dweller. Once Texas and Oklahoma get in the SEC Auburn will generally stay in the bottom 1/3 of the league.

wishful thinking young man.

Anyone can fantasize about the future all they want, but until Saban hangs it up Alabama is clearly #1. You could even say Georgia is 1b if you want to, but Alabama is #1.

whut?

Games played against FINAL AP ranked teams, 2013-2022:

51- Alabama
50- Auburn
49- Georgia
45- LSU
43- Tennessee
43- Oklahoma
42- Arkansas
41- S Carolina
41- Texas A&M
41- Florida
41- Ole Miss
40- Miss St
40- Texas
33- Vanderbilt
33- Kentucky
31- Missouri

I guess I should have included Missouri and Vandy as well… but yes, you three have made a living off of a weak arse schedule for a decade.

Imagine playing not one but TWO fewer ranked opponents every year compared to other teams in your conference?

Where are you getting this? According to 247sports, Bama has the most 5 stars & the most 4 stars on roster. LINK

thought the thread referred to "current situation"..which is it?

Current situation as it portends to the future.

A “current situation” would just be the SEC standings as they look today. But when you look at where programs are headed you have to take in all info.

Saban is 72. Kirby is 47. That is a current situation.

Give me a 47-year old who’s won 2 of the last 3 National titles over a 72-year old won the most recent one any day of the week. I think most unbiased fans would agree.

NIL is a game changer for Missouri.

We’ve always had good $, but our admin and coaches were too ethical or sloppy to play the game the right way. NIL has let us in the game. We are the only FBS team in a state that produces usually 2-3 5 stars, 8-10 4 stars and 10 more P2 quality players. When you consider the transfer portal now for ESL kids wanting to get back home, Missouri is going to be a permanent pest in the SEC.

Really?

UK got Cam when they played Auburn

For years UK had one of the toughest schedules as they got the really good teams when they were actually good.

It’s not “hard” to recruit to mizzou. Hell, drink had the #6 in sec recruiting class 2 years ago off of a 500 season.

That class finished #18 according to On3, but would be just 10th in the SEC if you include TX and OU…. Hate to tell you but if your best recruiting class in a decade is 10th in your league, you likely aren’t going to go on a sustained run of winning championships.

Like I said, Drinkwitz has done a great job. I’d take Auburn’s current situation over Mizzou’s in a heartbeat. Freeze was the best OM coach since Vaught. He’s about to land a Top 10 class at Auburn despite all of our recent struggles. Things are looking up and I think we have more to work with than Mizzou has… just being honest

Well… numbers don’t lie.

You have played in the weaker division. You have the weakest annual opponent out of the West (MSU)… and your only OOC opponent with a pulse (Louisville) has been down for the better part of the decade. It literally could not get easier in the SEC.

Auburn has played 50 ranked opponents 2013-2022. UK played 33 in the same time frame.

That’s actually Lane now. 2 ten win seasons in last 3. First coach since Vaught to do that.

nah, with the schedule stuff changing Georgia is in for a rude awakening. After years of feasting on a tune-up conference schedule every season, they have to be ready to go from day one. Nobody is going to struggle as much with the new format than Georgia

I’m not saying we’re gunning for the top class, but drink is a recruiter, and if we keep winning there’s zero reason classes won’t get better and better.
