In reality. Lane had offers from lsu uf and ole miss. Our AD told him up front if you take another offer that will be your last day at ole miss. As any boss at any company in America would say to an employee taking a job with that company’s biggest rival. You think they’re gonna let a competitors employee hang around the office building for another month trying to poach talent on the way out? You’re a naive idiot if you think that was an option.
Lane took the lsu offer. And the consequence of that action is that he was no longer the head coach of ole miss. The new head coach told lane to get the frick out of the manning center this is no longer his team. The players held a meeting and told him to get the frick out because this is no longer his team. Then he threw a little tantrum and tried to turn the PlayStation off on his way out looking even more childish.
It’s called consequences for one’s own actions. Pretty novel concept in 2026.

I worked in this industry for 10 years.
And I just read through the housing bill and it actually doesn’t ban SFR/institutional investors from buying homes.
They have a “renovate to rent” exemption. As long as the buyer puts 15% of purchase price into the reno that property is exempt from the ban.
Or if the houses “do not meet structural or core system of local building codes” aka foundation work which every house in Texas could be argued needs it those houses are also exempt from the ban.
LIHTC and other affordable communities that consist of single-family homes operated as a single project will likely fall under the build-to-rent or renovate-to-rent exceptions Aka section 8 or work force housing. And the bill increases the number of section 8 units or 100,000 new section 8 units SFR companies could purchase.

We all love our favorite jestermaxxing coach in the SEC, Lame Kiffin.
Kiffin has crashed and burned at nearly every coaching stop he’s had since his daddy got him a job at Fresno state after you guessed it… quitting the team when the going got tough.
Lame got fired by Al Davis using PowerPoint calling him a liar and fraud, he slipped out in the middle of the night at Tennessee so he could get fired on the tarmac at USC midway through the season. He pissed Nick Saban off so much he got fired at Bama a week before the national championship.
And now after finally having success for the first time in his career at Ole Miss and in the midst of a playoff run Lame Quittin slips out in the middle of the night only to watch the team he gave up on be one play away from playing for a national championship without him.
