What Mizzou has “got” is the second most All SEC selections in the conference and pros all over the field.

Your going to have stop looking at HS recruiting as the end all be all when the portal exists (where Mizzou just landed the #1 CB btw)

Mizzou will be very good again next year with what they have returning and the defensive pieces they will land in the portal

I ran into this about Mizzou and felt this was best place for it:

———

College Football Report
@CFBRep
Let’s take a moment to appreciate what Eli Drinkwitz has done at Mizzou:

2020: 5-5
2021: 6-7
2022: 6-7
2023: 10-2

Mizzou was mediocre for a long time, but Drinkwitz has led Mizzou to a Top 10 finish, and has an opportunity to bring a NY6 trophy home.

@HRPokerJT
I keep seeing Mizzou fans brag and posts like this praising Missouri. This year sure looked like an outlier record wise, so I decided to look. Turns out they took advantage of having what might have been one of the easiest schedules in history.

Wins vs top 25 in the final CFP rankings would be 2. Vs #21 and #25. Both those teams ended up 8-4.

The other teams they beat? FCS, 4-8 G5, 9-3 G5, 2-10 SEC, 7-5 SEC, 5-7 SEC, 5-7 SEC, 4-8 SEC.

Combined record of teams they beat (not including the FCS team)? 52-56

Let's stop acting like Missouri just woke up and beat a bunch of good teams.

Oklahoma should be about 12th. They are the Nebraska of the SEC.

I keep seeing this comparison. But Dallas HS talent continues to feed that program. Unless that changes, they’ll be relevant. That said, it’s 11:46 & OU still sucks!

Finally, your bias shows by saying your 6-6 Auburn squad is moving the "right direction" while questioning a 10-2 Mizzou squad

Again. Not sure why it’s hard for you Mizzou fans to understand that Auburn’s program has more money, more fan support, and recruits at a much higher level than Mizzou. Those are just facts.

We’ve been down for the past 3-4 seasons because of a bad hire in Brian Harsin. But Freeze is climbing up out of the hole he inherited.

2024 Recruiting Class
Auburn currently ranked #11
Mizzou currently ranked #30

2025 Recruiting Class
Auburn currently ranked #8
Mizzou no recruits yet

It takes talent to win. Again, I’ll take Auburn’s situation going into the next couple years over Mizzou’s any day. Auburn will compete for the SEC by 2025.

Mizzou has an actual football team. AU couldn't even beat a hapless A&M team or New Mexico State. That's just plain sad ... Good luck with the mercenaries. It doesn't really work very well for a school like Auburn or A&M.

You have to be a rich blue blood, and you just aren't

Idk your point… you recruit ok-ish, but massively underperform? Sounding Aggy like.

2021 class ranks:
Auburn: 19
Mizzou: 26

2021 records:
Auburn: 6-7
Mizzou:6-7

—-
2022 class ranks:
Auburn: 21
Mizzou: 15

2022 records:
Auburn: 5-7
Mizzou:6-7

—-
2023 class ranks:
Auburn: 18
Mizzou: 34

2023 records:
Auburn: 6-6
Mizzou: 10-2

Keep on bragging about doing less with more while we are actually making tangible progress. The stats support my claim

Everyone in this thread is evaluating based off the standard of "being able to contend for multiple CFB Playoff berths / National Championships over the coming years"... who set this standard? Bama.

1. Bama
2. The rest

UGA is definitely 1B. Mizzou thinks they are much higher than they are. If your recruiting class rankings aren't Top 10 in the NATION, not your conference... then sustained success will be difficult.

You must be confused because we’re not talking about this season, we’re talking about the future.

But I’ll take the bait anyway. This season, Auburn and Mizzou had four common opponents:

Georgia: AU lost by 7; Mizzou lost by 11
LSU: AU lost by 30; Mizzou lost by 10
Vandy: AU win by 16; Mizzou won by 17
Arkansas: AU won by 38; Mizzou won by 31

Both 2-2 against common opponents with Mizzou having a net 2.5 points/game better margin.

Congrats on your coach in his FOURTH season being 2.5 points better than our coach in his first.

Comparing past AU classes is worthless considering we had one kid left on our roster this season from the 2021 signing class. Harsin dropped a nuclear bomb on our program. Yet even still Mizzou is just a slight notch above at the moment. Just wait another couple of years. We’ll be back.

There is a reason AU is 3-0 against Mizzou since you joined the SEC.

Hugh Freeze imploded the program you disingenuous frick. Guess you don’t remember the NCAA camping out in Oxford for 4 years. The NCAA giving Ole Miss recruiting sanctions and a 2 year bowl ban for Hugh freezes actions. Hugh Freeze getting fired FOR CAUSE (foreign concept at Auburn) for calling prostitutes on recruiting visits.

Matt Luke held the roster together when the NCAA allowed the entire team to transfer and play immediately before that was even a thing.

But keep sucking Hugh’s dick.
New Mexico State just scored on Hugh again.
