I thought this had nothing to do with LSU, so why are you butthurt?

Consideration as well as public policy concerns will be raised by defendants.

Just because it’s written in the contract doesn’t mean the court will enforce, it’s not that cut and dry.

What program in major CFB isn't playing these games, Ole Miss included?

So Pete is a high character guy? Texting the Clemson kid while he's in class, after he's signed and on campus?

Please.

At this point, players have all the leverage and dealing with broken contracts is a sunk cost. OM looks like Ned in the Third Grade and will probably lose some recruits over this, as all LSU or anyone else has to say is: "If you go there and leave, OM will sue you."

He signed a financial aid agreement which binds the school to the kid, not the kid to the school.

What the hell do you think Lane has to do with this? Or either coach for that matter? This will all be handled by attorneys. At most Lane may have to give a statement at a PC, but that’ll probably be handled by the communications director

I am 100% sure that was negotiated with the players agents on the front end.

And I am 100% hopeful that we drag this out for months to make OM look small and ridiculous for as long as possible. At least through the next recruiting cycle.
You mean the truth doesn't matter? Why would you not want to know the right way to move forward? This is a test case for the future of this bullshite of paying players.

Oh come on. You're glazing over Pete contacting the kid in class, at the new school. Quit acting Like Pete is some kind of choir boy. Hell, at media days he admitted to tampering, said everyone does it. Grow up.

That's what I said in my first post on this. It's out of control, and it's good that a school stepped up. I'm just glad it wasn't LSU, and am happy it was OM so I can listen to their sanctimonious bitching for the next couple of years as the wheels come off. Music to my ears.

it’s a liquidated damages clause.

We had a discussion about this last week. The short version is if you're an OM fan. you better hope it's not about LDs. LDs have limitations under Ms law and OM will have to prove the LDs represent actual damages. Which will give us endless whiney quotes if they hope to justify the damages.

I think the play here isn’t to make Ole Miss look bad but rather to get rid of buyouts. After this, what player is going to sign a rev share w a buyout in it? Agents will spin this and have them done away with next recruiting cycle.

This sort of contradicting shite is why it’s out of control. If you’re okay with ruining the sport bc your team can get better players then what the frick do you actually win?

This won't impact our recruiting at all. It's simple. Don't sign a contract with a buyout clause if you don't intend to honor the contract.

Ole Miss sues former players or LSU doesn't bail out players that transfer to LSU. Both angles could be used negatively but even still, it won't impact recruiting for either school.

Exactly. You're probably a fan of school loan forgiveness, too.
