Chat GPT knew

General rule
• On a typical force-out play (i.e., fielding a ground ball or catching a throw from the infield), the defense must use the white base, while the runner must use the colored bag (green/orange) to be safe ?.

?

?? Exceptions where a fielder may legally use the colored base
1. Dropped third strike (uncaught third strike):
• Either player (fielder or batter-runner) may use either base.
• This flexibility is allowed to help avoid collisions if the play is drawn toward foul territory ?.
2. Play “pulled off” into foul territory:
• If the fielder is forced off the white base into foul territory (e.g., chasing a ball or throw), then:
• The batter-runner may use either bag to avoid collision,
• But the fielder must still touch the white base to complete the force out

If that’s the case, everyone in the stadium missed that then. I rewound just to be sure.

I may have missed this, but are fielders allowed to use the green safety bag to record an out? I thought there was a call last week where the fielder touched the green bag, but the runner was safe.

On that last out, the dropped strike 3, the first baseman took the throw with his foot on the green bag.

He’s in the bunker on 18 off the tee. Needs a double to get to 90.

ETA: 6’7” putt coming for an 89

ETA2: Sinks the tickler for a smooth 89.

feel bad for the poor bastard in last. He's sitting at +33 with 3 holes still left to play. Shot an 86 yesterday and is grinding to break 90 today.

Lol I’d claim the hell out of that. Sell tee shirts “I finished last” all over the place. Do interviews, etc.

I hate they’re going to get all the rain this weekend. These greens could be some of the craziest we’ve seen if it stayed dry.

Also, I never need to hear anything about Niemann until he’s in contention at a major on a weekend

Got the kiss of death when Phil said he was the best player in the world.

Was that Rory who just advanced it 10 feet out of the bunker?

ETA: yep it was. Big number incoming.

Burns with the best round going today and I’ve seen him hit maybe one shot this morning on the Peacock broadcast

They are debating, and saying that they can’t, whether a TEN handicap can break 200 at this setup.

I think the handicap they were using was an 18. The only argument that made any sense is you’d have to put them on the same tees and with no spotters. This would make some fairways impossible for them to hit and lead to a ton of lost balls. It’s more of a distance argument than an overall handicap argument.

Just looked at the weather coming the next three days. Over 80% chance of precipitation pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday. We may be looking at a Monday finish with scores way lower than we thought. I don’t see any way the course dries out with all the rain.

I want to see E or even over par win it, but I feel like all this hype will fall flat and you’re dead on with -5 winning
