Is it true that 66% of UGA fans consider Alabama their number #1 rival?

The Bumbles would be my guess in the past
Auburn all time
Tennessee pre Pell
Florida post Pell
Alabama at the bottom
Honorable mention to the Taters when they play

UGA rivals are:
Tech, Florida, and Auburn
People are such victims of recency bias. You can hate other teams but that doesnt make them your rival.
I hate UGA and Florida and Auburn, but Tennessee rivals are Bama, UK, and Vandy.

1. Tech because they are in-state.
2. Auburn because of the oldest rivalry.
3. Florida because of the cocktail party.

The order kinda changes around depending on which of those are most competitive but to me its usually
Auburn
Tennessee
Tech
then Florida - Florida you would think would be way higher but they dominated our arse for along time and then it flipped so its been kinda non-competitive at times.
Auburn games even when one team way outranks the other- The damn games are usually hell games - both ways
Same with Tech for the most part outside of some really bad Tech years

No, that’s not true at all.

I don't, but a nifty fact is that Georgia has played more games against Alabama since 2020 than it has against Georgia Tech, Auburn and Florida. Two more vs. Bama than Georgia Tech and Florida, as of today.
Alabama was defintely the team on the schedule I wanted to beat the most this season. But one has to understand that for a rivalry to feel like a rivalry, both teams need to win more than every once in a while.
Georgia was 27-2 against its three old rivals since December 2017 entering this season.

No. It’s crazy that people will flip the order based who’s dominating for a given time or recent history (Bama is not a rival). Our rivals are:
1) Florida — Cocktail Party and it’s a conference game. And generally, everything about The University of Florida is just awful. The alumni in Atlanta particularly.
2) Georgia Tech — The moniker “Clean Old Fashioned Hate” speaks for itself. Not #1 because it’s OOC.
3) Auburn — The oldest rivalry in the Deep South and some interesting games over those years—including this past weekend.
That’s it.

Just because you play in some good games against a team doesn’t make them your rival.

And if Clemson were in the SEC, you would remove Tennessee from this list.

I think if you asked Alabama fans, it has to be always:
Tennessee
Auburn
And most likely in that order. Maybe since the Phil Fulmer nonsense.
I've never seen Georgia as a rival. Just our most worthy opponent and LSU was that for a while too. Florida in the 90's and up to Tebow.

I think this changes by age of the person asked.
Georgia fans could say Alabama if they are younger since it’s been a back and forth for national championships.
I could see Auburn or Florida listed.

Florida is their biggest rival. Yes, we've played them in some big games but that doesn't make a rival. No different than when Saban was at Alabama, LSU wasn't even close to our biggest rival. But still you have people trying to make it that way.

This. Also, LSU fans are pretty fun and good people IRL. Can’t really say that about any other SEC fans.

The best way I've heard it put is that Bama is an obstacle, or a nemesis even, but not a rival. They've just been a great program with our number for a long time now. I think there's a lot of respect because they're always so tough.
Maybe if we had another 20 years of UGA-Bama classics this could become a real rivalry, but tbh both teams are already full on the rivalry list to begin with.

This is a perspective I hadn’t thought about. Excellent point.

Majority have UF #1. You can look at polls on Dawgs247 and r/georgiabulldogs.

Anyone saying that Bama is UGA's biggest rival has severe recency bias.
