He still wouldn’t be my first option for LSU but he would be a really good consolation prize

It reminds me of the Les Miles hire.

Not saying Drink reminds me of Les Miles

I'm not as down on Drink as others, but if he's our choice, it means we are toxic to the other more desirable coaches due to the political nonsense going on.

That’s what I’m saying. If the choices are Drink, who is a SEC HC that has experience and some success in this league, some random G4 coaches, or coordinators who’ve never led a program, then why wouldn’t we take the somewhat successful SEC HC?

What if Drinkwitz is the best we can do?

Being number 1 on the list means zero. Him having actual interest in the job means something. That is what the question is.

Exactly.

I’m pretty sure he posted on Tiger Lair back in the day but I could be wrong

It’s pretty obvious that Kiffin is #1 on their list.

That would make the seemingly moronic grandstanding about no taxpayer dollars being used for a coaches buyout prophetic. It is a BAD look imho

Yes it’s dirty and hopefully they would never publicly admit to it.
As dumb as they’ve come off so far in all of this, we forget that all these guys in LSU’s corner are attorneys with decades of law practice in this state.

The lawsuit is against the state. If the state loses…he has to (somehow) extract that money from them.
That means the money people STILL have that cash readily available.

Ding ding ding

Landry might actually be playing 4D chess here

Poor clock management IMO

Punted down by 7 with 3 minutes left on the clock just like Vandy

So Sexton clients now who are worse like Kiffin?

Clint Dowdle

Uhhh, he has the 8th ranked total offense in the country, at a program that fired its head coach… Say what you want, BP is an elite offensive coach

Cool story, what’s his record in those games?

Why doesn’t Arkansas want to hire him?

I’ll wait for your answers.

Just because he’s the only name you recognize doesn’t mean you should start a thread about hiring him.
There are younger coaches who can coach circles around his sorry shriveled arse, and who aren’t total piece of shite human beings.
Saban has made impulse decisions in the past

He nearly backed out of the LSU job right before the introductory presser
He nearly backed out of the Dolphins job in Skip’s office
He decided to retire from Bama when he he still had interviews and staff meetings scheduled for later the same day.

Keep asking and maybe he changes his mind
I’d be surprised if we hire another Trace Armstrong client in this cycle
