How would that help them in a fight with football players that have superior upper body strength?
The frick? Why are you talking about my dick. That’s pretty gay.
Everyone wants to say that soccer players are great athletes. They would get smoked in a fight.
Just because you can run around for a long time it doesn’t mean you’re tough. It would be a bloodbath.
I’m not going to tell you how much money I make.
Yeah man, I’ve made the decision to accept the offer and wait for all the conflict stuff to clear. Then I will give my two weeks.
I would think that is probably bullshite. It will cost them more than $50k to find a replacement and get them up to speed.
You know, I should probably sleep on it another night, but at the end of the day, frick it. 50k is a lot of money. They are clearly underpaying me. I’ll just leave.
Yeah, I feel like this is just business. But I could see them getting personal about it.
Yeah, I’m mentally preparing myself for the fact that they could say no. If they do, at least I will be making $50k more.

Negotiating a raise. Edited for update

Received an offer for approximately $50k higher base salary than my current job. Would prefer not to change jobs so the plan is to try to get my current employer to match. Any advice?

More background: I regularly receive emails from recruiters offering higher salaries for similar experience. We are talking $30k, $40k, $50k, or even $60k higher. I’ve done some research and talked to similar people in the same field. It’s clear that the compensation is better elsewhere. I went to my boss mid year and asked for more money. He said that he could not accommodate me at that time. Got this offer for significantly more. Seems like a good firm. Going to go into it not expecting my current firm will match and see what happens.
I wish we wouldn’t claim 1942. Claiming it makes us look like Auburn. Pathetic.
