re: Why is UGA Golf so subpar?

Georgia golf remains one of the top feeder schools to the PGA Tour.

I follow golf as much as the next guy, and while it's fun to see previous dawgs do well in the PGA, I would like to see a little more success at UGA.

It would be nice to get a trophy of some kind every now and then. And I'm not talking about a Linger Longer trophy.

Vying for the SEC championship should be a given. Getting in match play in the NCAAs should happen fairly frequently as well.

Hopefully, DeMoss will get things jump started with Mason Howell and things take off.

I don't think playing before noon leads to good football

Arkansas plays Utah at 10:15 pm the previous week. Probably get back to Fayetteville at 6am that Sunday morning and then has to turn around and play UGA at 11:00 am the following Saturday.

Kirby would be livid if that was done to UGA.

Georgia 4 (South Carolina, Mississippi State, Missouri, LSU)

Going 4-0 against Mississippi State to this point.

So, who do we get in the Supers if both are fortunate enough to advance?

Most UGA fans are scared to death of this match up. All of the games were either 1 or 2 run games.

The current coach has won two national championships and eight SEC championships. He's just awful.

He also retired at the end of this season.

And instead of hiring former UGA golfer Ryan Hybl, who was outstanding as coach at OU, Brooks decides to go cheap and hire DeMoss from within the current staff.

Maybe there was an issue with hiring Hybl other than money. I don't know.

Hybl was just recently hired by GA Tech.

Can't beat out Va Tech for a QB? Damn

Not saying Kirby didn't want him, but is this guy really any better than what is on the roster now?

If Kirby thinks the future is on the roster already, he's not going to outbid others for a scout team QB.

Arrested on Friday and just now learning of this? Does no one care about Georgia any longer?

UGA NIL money in the tank. Gotta supplement that income.
Why are you whining about their whining?

Chris Carr comes out the cleanest in my opinion.

For me, he is the most qualified of all the candidates.

Unfortunately, he can't sell it. I just don't see him getting in the run off.

If he does, it would mean he has all of a sudden become hot. He can beat KLB.
Neither GA Tech nor Oklahoma were in the conference when those records were set.

They don't count.

Oh, BTW, to hell with Tech.
Looks like another brand of ball.

More defense/rebounding(hopefully!). Offense won't be leading the nation in scoring with this group. And I'm fine with that if the defense improves.

As usual, will need better 3 point shooting.
Never liked him for football from the jump.

Even before taking over for Larry, he would butcher Larry's calls by interjecting loud expressions during a TD or a big hit.

He had a bad habit of making up multiple stupid phrases (It's Chubby time!, for example)

He completely lost me after the retarded call of the Ohio St. missed field goal.

Absolutely terrible.

Did you know that Georgia, LSU, and Vandy football players dodged the draft in 1943?

Florida football players have been dodging the draft for the last few years.

Anyone else a little bit concerned about our portal efforts?

I've just about given up on the Admin/boosters willingness to pony up for basketball.

White will field a team, but I don't see anything, at the moment, that screams NCAA tourney team.

As for WBB, it's been crickets. Not 100% sure what happened with Abe, but my guess is that they told her there is no money for her.

Shocking to see UGA in 15th place.

Not really.

Chris Haack, stepping down after this year, built the program back where it should have been years ago. But he got lazy or never adapted in recruiting.

Should have retired years ago and it shows.

Kirby when he took pictures of Alabama's recruiting board upon leaving.

Bama fans are so soft. I'd guarantee you that Kirby knew the recruiting class a good as anyone on that staff.

I'm not saying this happened or not, but do you really think this had any bearing on the recruiting class for that year?

Kirby's lowest ranked recruiting class was, guess when. The year he left. Who were all of these 5 star recruits he supposedly stole from Bama?

You've taken what is probably a blatant lie and run with it to further your hatred for the man. One would think you would look at Kirby's record against Bama as good enough "revenge" to satisfy you.
What if you are Ryan Coleman-Williams and stay 17 the rest of your life?
quote:

He wasn't really interested in anyone else's players, he just wanted to brag about the freshman guy at A&M and disguised it as if he was interested in learning about other players.

Nailed it.

BTW, our freshmen have been re-evaluated and are now all 5 stars.

Better be real good money.

Once you've become THE Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach, all else pales in comparison.

Yea I just saw that.

Guess I'll call to get it added now. Can't do it online based on what I see, (or don't see)
