I think those are the right top two. After that, I think Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Bama could all be there with some luck.

There's almost no such thing anymore as a team that doesn't need some luck to win the SEC. It's borderline whether there still exist teams that can make the playoffs without some luck. We needed it last year and got it. The only year we really should have made the playoffs regardless of good or bad luck was 2024, but that's not accounting for the bad luck of Kiffin's girlfriend breaking up with him when we really needed him to be focused.

I can't get my head around this new era of Bama football. Last year they look like they were going to suck, and then they made the championship game and the playoffs. I'm just going to assume they remain a major favorite every year until something proves that wrong.

A&M was dumb enough to keep Klein after he checked out. That is on Elko and explains the lack of offensive productivity down the stretch. We will see. Don’t choke as you are wont to do tsip

I think I am leaning Ole Miss at 3 and then OU/Alabama after that.

I have too many questions on O for A&M with Wiggins keeping Klein’s 2 TE heavy structure, while wanting more tempo, while also having all the TE on the entire roster gain a bunch of weight. If they are going heavily inline TE to block, that will help the rebuilt OL and the running game, but how does that mesh with Klein’s offensive scheme? The entire point was to have big mobile TE that can be a threat both ways to put the LB and Safeties in conflict in the pass game. If they can’t get off the line at 280+, that set of the scheme isn’t there and changes how you defend A&M. Combine that with more tempo and I am not sure where this is going. Does A&M morph more to a heavy 11 set and rely on their solid WR good instead?

This also impacts the D. If they are going fast, then the D sees more reps than they normally have done and yet has no where near the depth or talent on the DL to send waves at people all out. I think their secondary is going to be solid to great, but late in game you can’t cover forever, and they don’t have the DL they did the last few years…

Based on the 20 hours of preseason preview pods, they are all in love with OU to possibly win the SEC and title

Brandon Walker has them winning it all and Pate, Staples and everyone has them with a deep playoff run.

I'm a homer, I love LSU and Lane and Baker and all the talent but that schedule is a meat grinder

Oklahoma they went 10-2 last year against the hardest schedule without an offense most of the season

Brent Venables just gets the benefit of the doubt when it comes to defense, if Arbuckle/Mateer fix everything offensively look out - they could make a run this year

For intents and purposes, Alabama should at least make the game with their garbage schedule this season but as long as Ryan Grubb's involved with the offense, they won't be balanced enough to break through, even with Louisville's o-line coach, the dude just sucks when it comes to the running game, why he's not in the NFL anymore.
