Georgia and Alabama played in the SEC championship. Both had new starting quarterbacks
Ole Miss went furthest in the playoff- new starting QB
That line of thinking is why Clemson, Penn State, and LSU started preseason top 5 last year. "experience" is overrated at that position in college football. The sport has been dumbed down considerably. The kids are coming into college with thousands and thousands of 7 on 7 reps. It's just way down the list of shite that matters

Too insecure. And last year's moral victories definitely don't have any relevance to a discussion about this year's SEC contenders.

I think those are the right top two. After that, I think Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Bama could all be there with some luck.
There's almost no such thing anymore as a team that doesn't need some luck to win the SEC. It's borderline whether there still exist teams that can make the playoffs without some luck. We needed it last year and got it. The only year we really should have made the playoffs regardless of good or bad luck was 2024, but that's not accounting for the bad luck of Kiffin's girlfriend breaking up with him when we really needed him to be focused.
I can't get my head around this new era of Bama football. Last year they look like they were going to suck, and then they made the championship game and the playoffs. I'm just going to assume they remain a major favorite every year until something proves that wrong.
