You beat us that year on the field as I stated

Thats insane. And yall have the balls to claim Tiger Stadium is a hard place to play

1970-1999

1987 LSU went 10-1-1, played Bama in Baton Rouge, lost 22-10, cost the team a possible national title

Alabama is now 58-27-5 all-time vs LSU

I mean yeah we went 31 years where we couldn't beat you in Baton Rouge and obviously you won 13 of the last 15 meetings in recent play so that all translates
I'm not giving the refs that much credit, our offensive line is garbage and we have trouble getting plays in regardless of home and away, it's embarrassing. We have a veteran QB who doesn't read the field well and a backup who struggles with accuracy but gives us a running dimension.

That said, my only complaints on the officiating:

-the no call personal foul by the Bama player throwing our guy down while both were out of bounds
-the no call running into the punter
-the review with MVB sliding which was total BS
-not familiar with this rule but not giving the ball to Woodland on that catch/INT

That said and not pinning this on Ramos but if our FG kicker makes a chip shot to start the game, we cut this thing to 17-12 and give ourselves a fighting chance. If Sharp doesn't fumble the ball away, Bama doesn't get gifted 3 points. If our offensive line was just better at execution and the basics, maybe we actually score a TD with all our WR weapons in all those trips in the red zone and the outcome's different. The moment we start blaming the refs for Ws and Ls, we lose the mental battle and thus the war. Just gotta play better.

We are the #1 defense in the conference in PPG defense (18.3) in conference play, while playing arguably the best group of offenses.

Outside of Vandy and Georgia, Mizzou and Tennessee has fallen off significantly, LSU's offense is the worst in the P4 so them not scoring TDs in the red zone aren't much an accomplishment
FINALLY

Now we can actually begin this coaching search in earnest

Absolutely insane from this state I claim and love, almost like a marriage

re: Is Verge being set up?

Isn’t Rousse supposed to be helping Verge with the head coach search? Those committee meetings finna be awkward as fuuuuuuuck
quote:

Im just trying to guess here… but what I maybe think he was trying to say is “yeah, to me this is common sense. Verge is our AD until he’s not. Interim/Permanent are irrelevant/unnecessary terms to me… He’s our AD until he’s not.”

Devil's advocate: since he inherited this and what the BOS people stated Friday, he's confirming removing Verge's interim tag but not tying himself to Verge too closely in case Verge fricks this up. Would it have negatively mattered had he just lied at the behest of the BOS to portray our situation in the best light for all the prospective coaches out there? Probably not but he said this 1) because it's true and 2) to cover his behind in case Verge doesn't work out, people work in their own self-interest.

What makes you think we would be okay in the short-term if we hired Frank Wilson?

Because he seemingly shares the same traits that Coach O had
quote:

Hate feeling like I have to root against LSU to avoid Frank as HC

I'm not rooting against LSU for this reason (nor rooting against them at all, I'm a true fan but I digress), Frank loves LSU and would love both to succeed these final 4 games, but you best believe that if we win 4 of the last 5 (including bowl) or God willing go undefeated and take down Bama in their place, that we're going to give him a serious look. I don't want him because it's basically repeating what we did with O, yes we won the natty in 19 and it created memories for a lifetime but it got off to such a rocky start for O Year 1 with feuding with Canada and losing to Mississippi State and Troy then post-19, the bottom fell out so we had to cut bait.

My point is, should we hire Frank full-time, we should be fine short-term but I want sustained long-term continuity, success, and restoration of our Standard on a consistent basis and that comes with hiring of someone like a Saban, like a Kirby, like a Marcus Freeman, like a Kiffin, like a Ryan Day, like a Bob Stoops, like a Lanning, etc. Also, I really don't want a head coach who will be completely dependent on his coordinators to do his job on the sideline, prefer someone with prior playcalling experience on either side of the ball. The Coach O experience reflected so much chaos and dysfunction because of this dynamic. This model works, look at the head coaches of the nation's top teams, follow that blueprint.
Monken’s on my personal list, would be down
Dude, Morris is on my personal list, our offense would TAKE OFF (no pun intended) with him as our HC
That we play hard and with heart, particularly offensively and up front. Defensively, that we maintain our rush discipline, our gap and lateral discipline at linebacker, and our coverage discipline in the secondary. Just disciplined and tough play which shows we improved from that garbage we displayed much of this season.
In a rematch between 2 equally matched opponents, the advantage always goes to the initial loser, whether it's Bama or Ole Miss or Mishawaka Junior College, simple physics
quote:

So how confident are you in Frank Wilson?

I think the team will be motivated, I think they will play hard, and they might actually call better plays on offense than the garbage Sloan/BK did, don't want him to be the next head coach full-time but he's perfect for this interim spot during the search.
PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN

WOULD BE A SLAM DUNK
