Tennessee is 121-116 against FBS opponents during the past 22 seasons.

There's no doubt there will be a dip post Kirby but I highly doubt we'll have a fall like those programs.
Maybe regress to CMR levels but I don't see a Ray Goff
type era ever coming back. Not with the wealth of talent within a hour's drive of the campus and I get that the worm has turned with the NIL era but there are still too many built in advantages in the program to fall off the map.

Be careful that’s very possible for any program

FSU simply doesn't get any good players anymore. I mean they may get a good one here and there but overall, that team has no talent at all. And as long as they are in the ACC, they will not get any.

Honestly, with the finanical burden the NIL and "pay for play" is putting on schools, I don't see how more schools aren't drowning in debt. I get the uber rich schools rooted in oil and gas, or the Ohio St's or Notre Dames, who have such an enormous alumni that donate. But when rosters are starting to cost $40-$50 million per season, I don't see how that is sustainable for programs that don't fall into the above category.

Cause athletic departments print money too. Tennessee announced over 300 million in revenue in 2025.

Not sure about that. However, there are rumors that he has been around Tallahassee quite a bit like he wants that job back.

I would add technology to that though.

Imagine them teetering at .500 only to end the season with a humiliating loss to the Gators & seal the losing 10 year stretch.

Yes, considering UGA and Miami are clearly outperforming us, I need that fsu win to sustain me.

What type of NIL backing do they have? How is rev sharing broken up across all sports?
Do they have the donors that will pony up the money like LSU or aTm have?
Florida is in their hole for these reasons in my opinion. They keep looking for a discount up and comer.
I don’t care how shitty FSU becomes for decades they were a one team conference before merging the Big East in.
I do want UF to become the dominant team in the state. I hate Miami

He left because they wouldn't fund the program. Willie Taggart put it on life support and Norvell actually had resurrected it by 2022 and then went 13--1 in 2023 and then just fell off the face of the Earth.
And they still have talent at FSU which is what makes this so baffling.

That is a good question coming from an LSU fan.

That’s what Florida does. For some reason ppl always say, Florida can’t win without big time coach but none of those guys were big time before Florida. Spurrier-was at duke(only at Duke bc miss st told him no). Spurrier threw the ball 50 percent of the time during an era where everyone ran 80 percent of the time. Was laughed at and told that won’t work in the sec. Urban Meyer at Utah, another non traditional coach at the time, when hired that may work out west but it’ll never work in the sec. Both worked in the sec pretty well.
