Florida whooping osu in the natty was what made national media take notice of the sec. It also kicked of a historic run for sec football. A lot of benefit of the doubt was awarded to the sec in the bcs era bc of osu/lsu back to backing titles. None of it happens if Oregon st didn’t upset usc at the end of 2006 season.
