He is, by far, their greatest legend and the greatest ambassador for that university. Great human being. Well deserved.

He's already got speed limit signs in his honor. Not sure why Archie needs a statue. Does Vaught have one? If not, this is out of order.

I don't get all of the praise for Archie Manning. He was not an outstanding QB in college or the pros. He threw for a lot of yards at Ole Piss but they never won anything while he was there. He was a Heisman candidate for one year. DO you put up statues for the second place guy? He would not even make the list of the top 25 QB's of all time. Might not even make the top 50. He never won any championships. Players on opposite teams were known to let up on him because he got sacked so much.
I just don't see were he deserves all of this praise.

He would have been better in the pros too, if he went anywhere with a surrounding cast. The Saints had Archie and Tom Dempsey.
Archie made have played behind the worst offensive lines in NFL history.

Two time Heisman finalist actually. He also didn't just "throw for a lot of yards" which makes sense considering the rest of the facts you got wrong.

He played on shite teams his entire career. I'm convinced that's why Eli turned the Chargers down when they tried to draft him. He didn't want his sons to have the same experience.

It shows my age but the first time Insaw Archie was on tv in prime time v Alabama and Scott Hunter. My daddy was driving the cotton picker and me and my little brother would have to “tramp” the cotton down in the trailer every time he dumped cotton into the trailer. I then would run back to the house and watch the game. One of the greatest games ever. In an era of low scoring games, it was a track meet and Archie Who became a

Another example of why the SEC shouldn’t go beyond the Sabine River. He was dominant player in his day and single-handedly carried Ole Miss to a number of wins in his day.

LSU’s greatest basketball player Pete Maravich has a statue on the LSU campus. He never won a SEC or national championship. None of his teams even made the NCAA tourney.
