Bert isn't exaggerating it really is magical. We started working in a resort day into our vacations before covid. We were at the Polynesian last year and I heard my middle child from the top of the volcano slide yell "THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER"

You can drink in Magic Kingdom now just a word to the wise. Go with your kids and wife man it'll be fun. Plenty of ways to save money listed already.

We watched the movie and sang the songs all the time as kids in the 90s. I think uncle Remus got an Oscar for his performance as well(again from memory the first black man to win one). This reframing as some racist relic of the past is typical regressive slop. My kids still love the ride and the princess and the frog(also great music) but I still bitch and we've been three times since they changed it.

The songs particularly How do you do? and Zip-pe-de-do-dah(which won a grammy iirc). The latter of which was always featured prominently on singalongs and Disney promotional materials.

Admittedly nostalgia too I first rode it when I was seven and it left indelible memories with my family.
