I hated grunge and all the new music of the early 90's. I wanted my glam rock back damnit. By the end of the decade STP had become my favorite band and lSoundgarden wasn't far behind and Pearl Jam right behind them, but from about late 91ish to 97 or so I hated it, or so I thought.

To hell with Cougar and Springsteen. Both of their music got worse as they went on. I really like "Ain't Even Done With The Night" by Commie Cougar but that's it. I don't like any of Springsteen's raspy shite. Cougar is also an odd built dude. He tiny as hell, like 5'6 or 5'7 and has a huge whopper noggin. As someone posted, thinking he's some voice of the American farmer acting like he does towards are nation is a downright disgrace.
ETA: I think Cougar has morphed into the Leader over the years.

At first I didn't see Jeffrey Simmons and was about to post a true "list is shite", but I saw him on last glance. Carry on.

Met Coach O in a hotel lobby when he was at Ole Miss. We talked for a good 10 or so minutes, and I barely understood a word he said. Very personable and likable dude though. Seem to generally be interested in what I was saying.
Held the door open for Sylvester Croom one time. Spoke to him, and he walked right on in and didn't say a word. No thank you, how you doing, nothing. This was the summer of 08 when he was coming off his only winning year. We started off with a loss at La Tech and a few weeks later was the infamous 3-2 Auburn game which I had tickets to and didn't attend thankfully. The season was a disaster, and I decided to go on strike against Croom and not go to any games for the first time in like 10 years. Of course, he was fired after the year. He was a bad coach, and my interaction with him made me think worse of him. I'd always take up for him to fans who were bashing him. I mean, he could've spoken or said thank you, especially after I clearly spoke to him while holding the door open. Had Mississippi State gear on also. You'd always hear these stories about how great a guy he was, etc. I know several players and recruits who said he was an a-hole and couldn't stand him. I got the same air from him from our brief encounter.
As many stated on here I also met and heard Coach Stallings at a FCA event. I hate everything Alabama, but Coach Stallings was a class act. Super nice and talked to everyone like he was their long lost best friend. Like someone else said I'd have ran through a wall for him after meeting him.
ETA: not a SEC coach, but met Paul Johnson when he was at Tech. One of the coolest dudes I've ever met. Very funny and dry.

Yes, he was a hero for us 5'10ish, 170ish pound white boys who were in high school at the time. He gave us hope. Also, as noted, I wondered what this old bald white dude was doing playing college ball. I was around 15-16 years old when Martin was at LSU, and I thought he was my parents age.

Came in here to post this. I remember him from "Don't Shed A Tear" in 1988. I liked his voice. I never put it together until years later that he sang "How Long","Tempted", "Silent Running", and "The Living Years". I don't know how I didn't catch his voice.

The 49ers did beat the Saints 35-14 on MNF in NOLA that season; however, that Sanderd INT for a TD was earlier in the season, a Sunday afternoon game at Candlestick. I remember because my pops and I were listening to the game in the truck on our way back from the camp.
Correct. If I recall correctly Deion did have a pick in the MNF game and returned it a good ways, but it was not for a TD. Maybe that's what the OP is think of.

Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, I had no idea Bob Welch "Ebony Eyes" and "Sentimental Lady" was in Fleetwood Mac at one time. Side note: When a Bob Welch song comes on I always ask my wife and kids if they like Bob Welch the singer, or Bob Welch the baseball player better.

Respectfully, do you have any objective evidence to support this statement, other than subjective opinions, emotional pleas, or your personal intuition? You also need to explain (1) the much lower acceptance rates that have accompanied rising scores at Southern universities and (2) the astronomical rise in rankings (presumably, if your thesis was true, then Southern colleges would be ranked similar to their positions 20 years ago, as every college would receive these falsely inflated standardized test scores). Also, if the average ACT at UGA is “really” only a 26-27 (rather than a 32-33) does that mean the average Mississippi State student is only “really” scoring a 17-18 on the ACT, based on your readjusted metric accounting for “score inflation”? Thank you in advance for your insight.
The overall test is shorter taking the time pressure off. Also, the science part is optional meaning you can take it if you think it will help your score, or not if it will hurt it.
As I stated in my original post there are all kinds of workshops and special classes you can take to "beat" the ACT. A simple Google search will tell you pretty much what I've said as far as better test prep, numbers of time one retakes the test, and overall teaching test taking skills, aka "beating the test".
So, overall the number of 30+ scores have greatly increased in the last 10-15 years and has diluted the significance of a 30+
Also, to answer your question about State's average ACT score being 17-18 in my readjusted metric, yes at Ole Miss also. Go read the Ayers case if you want to know why.
Here is an article explaining the "increase" of 30+ scores and how it has taken away its significance.
LINK
A simple Google search will provide much data proving this. I'm also in education, and we have PD's on this stuff all the time. I've been part of the ACT "team" in our district to increase scores and provide these workshops.
ETA: I also forgot to add stacking. My score would've been 3-4 points higher if I had been allowed to do this.

Maybe not made him famous, because he was forgotten pretty quick after the fact, but one performance that might've ruined a career was rookie RB Timmy Smith's 204 yard performance in the 1987 Super Bowl in his first start ever for the Redskins. His agent demanded a new contract the next offseason, and the Skins told him to kick rocks. Smith held out, then showed up 25 pounds overweight. He ended up rushing for only 470 yards the entire 1988 season, lost his starting job, and was let go the next season.
