Caught some of the game. Vol's defense sloppy, several errors, at least one run scoring WP, offensively 4 of their 5 runs were unearned, 3 came on a base loaded 2 outs, throwing error.

Several players have used the words "we have been trained this way" ( being patient). So, yes, it IS coaching. The players' talents also factor in obviously, but as with everything to do with his program, it all starts with 2 time National Coach of the Year Jay Johnson.

Even more embarrassing is that Tokyo 's actual population is 38.+ million & N.Y.C.'s is only 8.4 million. A bit more than "twice" the size. Son has lived / married in Nagoya, Japan's 4th largest city, for 7+ yrs now & loves it. Safe beyond comparison, no trash in store parking lots / streets / anywhere, people are ridiculously polite, older people are revered, education is free for life with 3 + kids.....there is a serious declining population issue, related ??...education is a 1000 times better ...middle school teachers are university professors like...But, good, bad, or ugly, according to my beautiful Japanese daughter-in-law, Japan is almost 95 % Japanese.

And pretty sure this was Penn's first games of the year.

A long time Yankee fan......still.....I had a transistor radio hidden under my books, in my 7th grade chemistry class, Caught the last 3 innings. When Maz hit that walk off, I cursed rather loudly. Teacher just stopped talking & asked me for the score. Anger a lot higher than any embarrassment on the richter scale.

Last season, post season......i.e. when the season was complete....LSU's staff lead the nation in strike outs, the League/ country (?) in defense ( CJJ added an extra diamond in their NC's rings for that accomplishment ) and, naturally, won its 8th NC. Vols are getting as bad as the aggies when it comes to 4-5-6 - games in -the-season awards.

CJJ has repeatedly said he coaches to win each game. Taking that to heart, when he adds that he does not want to give a team any competitive edge, specially re stating pitching, he's trying to win that game that day. Nuts how many here think they know more than the 2-time National Coach of the year. He uses even the smallest details to win each game.

Obsolete? Actually the ones here in B.R. are better than good & are usually well used, especially after school hrs. Even in today's IT world there are many who do not have access to computers. Can't speak for any of those in the hell holes in N.Y. or La. or Chicago or Portland, Seattle etc etc
