Only went up 1 spot? That has to be an error right?

As far as I can tell we haven't moved at all. At least not on 247 where we are still 19 without malone's points.

Texas edges us by like 3 points for the 17 spot.

Very good day. We’ll finish 18th I’d imagine. And that’s great. The closer you get to the top the more difficult movement becomes.

Specifically the D line. I think our defense could have been serviceable with an decent to good Dline.

First time since 2015 I've been pumped about recruiting.

Finishing 18th after a coaching staff's first season with Covid really restricting recruiting activities is pretty incredible.
When Lane can actually get recruits on campus and visit them in person he really should get it rolling.

Yeah he is actually recruiting well without using our main weapon (campus).
It’s going to get where the coach’s reach on social media might become a factor with these kids too. Well, i should say the main factor. It becomes an equation about social media interactions and posts about them and how many eyeballs will interact with posts about them and so on.
Right now I’m that world I’m pretty sure LK is on top. We kinda caught lightening in a bottle. If we could manage to hang on to him for a while it could be huge. I refuse to get my hopes up though.

Loved what Kiffin said in his press conference about recruiting nationally. Basically said yeah we will sign the best players in Mississippi but if you really want to compete and make your program nationally relevant, you have to recruit well on a national level.
It still amazes me there are some dumb old farts that think we can win just "owning the state" in recruiting.

Just in the West we have A&M, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn all recruiting nationally. In order to compete in the West we need kids from Florida, Georgia, etc... There's talent in state, and we need it to stay home. But we aren't winning much with only Sip kids.

Still. To look at it another way, if Ole Miss got the Dandy Dozen every year, plus another dozen from out of state, we would be Top Ten in the country every year.
We have to recruit nationally because we don't necessarily keep all of our talent at home.
I would rather have the 10th ranked kid from Mississippi than the 80th ranked kid from Florida that 5 Florida schools passed on.

He's currently throwing shots into three different coeds just in one Oxford Hot Yoga class that he attends every morning. He's in a pretty good place for the time being. This year we'll have fans back on campus, an exciting atmosphere. We can match any salary in the country. (We can't give him a Mercedes dealership that's worth $100 million like Saban but Lane doesn't seem to be as focused on money as he is on ego).
The only risk in losing him medium term is the west coast. Easier to win out there.

No school in Mississippi will ever be able to lock up the entire dandy dozen and we would have to stack that same result 3+ years in a row for it to hypothetically work. If Ole Miss was the only P5 program in mississippi maybe but as long as we are recruiting against bama LSU auburn state we will never be able to lock down in state players. We have to recruit nationally to win.

If we were to get 7 of the 12 Dandy Dozen each year we'd be lucky probably no matter how good we are. Between legacy kids, kids who've just always been fans of somebody else and others who are just dead set on getting out of Mississippi you are going to lose some. Not to mention, just because they are Dandy Dozen or say Top 20 you may not even want them or need them. I will say, if you do have a good program and are being successful, I'd hope we could at least grab most of the best guys especially if that other school isn't doing much.
Aight good job fellas and staff. Since I can no longer jinx it *knock on wood* I will update the thread with all the links and shite later today
Much better class than I expected, especially a few months ago, and in desperately needed positions. It almost looks like we know what we’re doing

I’ve followed recruiting since Nutt was coach and Mississippi recruiting isn’t hard to figure out. Every class has a couple of guys that go to Ole Miss and Mississippi State no matter how terrible the program looks. Then you have about 5 guys that will pick between Ole Miss and State. NCAA sanctions didn’t help Mississippi State recruiting it just killed ours and those 4 and 5 star recruits left Mississippi because of it. Kiffin will get those 4 and 5 star recruits in Mississippi with the momentum we have right now. A realistic goal is to sign something like 8 of the top 12 players in Mississippi and sign something like 5-8 four star or higher out of state.
