but winning 53 of 62 games doesn't seem like a choke job.

Winning that many games and not making the post season is most definitely the definition of choking! Win all those games, but not enough of the wins that mattered.

As for starting this thread and tempting the baseball gods.. stupid is as stupid does.. sorry for your upcoming loss..

I would expect UT to lose this weekend, at least 1 anyways. Last time we lost a regular season series in baseball was last year to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. So wouldn’t suprise me at all to see us lose the series to be honest. Bama is a good team this year.

BaseVOLS lost too much OP. Didn't you get the memo from tRant?

I had heard something about it, but I was waiting till SEC play started before I took it serious. SEC play has started, hasn’t it?

Realistic Final 4 Predictions

You said realistic, slapdick! This isn’t a comedy skit!
Who needs a “pitching lab” when you have Anderson? Vols lost its entire starting rotation, and main bullpen guys last season to the MLB and have come out this year better than last. What Anderson is doing with Doyle and Phillips this year has been amazing to watch. Phillips a 1st time starter and Doyle from Ole Miss was considered middle of the draft till he got to Tennessee and Anderson turned him into a top 10 arm already in the draft.

I think at this point we can confidently say that Anderson is the best pitching coach in college baseball. Everyone expected this years Vols team weakness to be the pitching after loosing so much and yet that’s not the case. If any assistant coach deserves to be in the college baseball HOF when they retire, it’s certainly him.

Doyle/Phillips combined states:
5-0- W/L
51 IP
0.88 ERA
85 K’s
14 BB

Is this the best Friday/Saturday combo in college baseball right now? I think so!

This weekend.

Very likely! The last time the Vols lost a series was last year against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
And yet Vitello has more national titles than Arkansas has in school history in baseball.

BaseVols chasing history..

I know it’s unlikely, but we can still talk about now they are inching closer. The Vols are currently off to a 20-0 start and with in reach of the record. While baseball is a funny game, it’s not likely we see the Vols break this record. Also 1977 Texas team to start 34-0 and not make the post season could be the biggest choke jobs of all time, or is it?

1. Florida Atlantic- 1999- 34
2. Texas- 1977- 34 (missed post season)
3. Texas- 1982- 33
4. Utah Valley- 2012- 32
5. Fresno St- 1988- 32
6. Arizona St- 1972- 32

Will will the Vols lose their first game?

This weekend those 4 teams get to face each other (LSU @ Texas, Tenn @ Bama). Let the hatred begin time to separate the pretenders from the contenders!

This weekend don’t mean shite in June. Tennessee lost this series last time they played in Tuscaloosa and was swept by Mizzou last year also and still won the national title!

390 to dead center is bitch-made.

Then you shouldn’t have any issues scoring runs in LNS then right?
I have 2 different pics posted, click on the link if you’re not scared of facts.

Tennessee plays on the smallest field in the conference. It's just a fact.

What’s also a fact is that the other team plays on the same field with same amount of at bats and still can’t hit it out. Why?
Let me show you a picture of the last home game I attended a week ago,

Most certainly says 385 left center, online is obviously not updated,
quote:

Don't really disagree. It's an elite defensive team with very good but not great pitching. And a good balanced offense but not a ton of power.

Your weekend starters have a combined ERA of 3.44 with 24 walks in 78.4 innings. Good hitting teams are going to make yall life difficult.

Texas pulls the sweep this weekend.

Their pitching just isn’t that great. They gave up 16 runs in 3 games to Mizzou. I think once LSU faces a team with decent pitching they gonna struggle with that pitching staff.
Tennessee dimension are correct for most part except in left center where it’s 385ft.
quote:

there's the ptoof that Tenn hr numbers are inflated due to playing on a high school field

Wrong! Tennessee actually hits homeruns at the same rate away from home as they did at home last year. Also the other team gets as many at bats as Tennessee and yet the ball isn’t flying out for them. Why is that? Also these numbers are not correct as it’s 385ft in left center for Lindsey Nelson stadium, not 365. Look at the pictures in my other post to see proof. Also 400ft home runs go out of every ball park on the sec!
These dimensions are not accurate. Lindsey Nelson stadium left center field is 385ft according to what is painted on the wall. I have a picture from the most recent game that will show it.

Rest of the dimension are correct though!

You do realize there has been a season since this where yall have been swept right? You bums are 4-11 against Vitello since 2019 and have lost the last 4.

Y’all keep holding onto that Skenes title you have from 2 years ago while we win another one this year! Vitello is the new Sherriff in college baseball and he’s going to make teams like you miserable for the foreseeable future.
