My favorite Saban stat is that every Bama recruit that stayed just 3 years left Bama with at least 1 NC ring from the 2006 class to the 2021 class.

Insane. THAT is the Dynasty of all dynasties in college football.

I'm pretty sure the 2021 class didn't win any natties

Six of those seasons were with Toledo and Michigan State. If you look at 22 seasons between LSU and Bama, I believe he won half of the possible SEC titles he could possibly win. 9 with Bama and 2 in 5 seasons at LSU.

Saban would have had one more if not for the illegal pick play by Clemson on the last play of the season. But, I’m not greedy— let them have it.

That is literally unbelievable. May the GOAT enjoy
his retirement from the sideline and a long life.

I should have said from the 2006 class until the 2021 class. 2021 was the first class where juniors leaving early left without a NC ring...had to make do with another SEC championship ring.

And technically there was a single guy from the 2006 class that left without a ring. So 2007 to 2020. 14 straight recruiting classes all got at least one NC ring.

And some people question why LSU fans were so salty to lose him.

There is little talent in Oklahoma high schools.

Everyone (almost everyone, I guess) knows OU has made a living recruiting Texas. OU is as close to Dallas as UT is.

I don’t need comparisons. He coached Alabama for 17 seasons. 2008 and 2010 were probably the only seasons he didn’t at least fall in the hunt for the title. He won 6 titles (plus 1 at LSU) and appeared in the NC game and playoffs how many other times? We will never see a run like that. Hell, his last year was a tight game against the eventual champion. Most coaches last years are barely above .500.

BAMA went into the SECCG undefeated and ranked number 1 in the 2008 season. 2010 was the odd season once Coach Saban got the machine up and running.

I forgot about that in 08. That was vs UF and Tebow’s big year to win it all. shite. Even 08 was a good year.

But even in 2010, Bama had a good team. I remember LSU had to throw the kitchen sink to win that game. That was a crazy season for all involved.

The right guy in the right place at the right time. All the planets lined up and produced the most dominant, sustained run of CFB greatness we'll probably ever see.

I remember reading about John wooden & Bear bryant as a kid, Saban and maybe Coach K are about the only coaches on their insanely high level in my lifetime.

Yep, you are correct. Whoever has won Texas recruiting, historically, has won on the field. But now, with UT, A&M, TCU, and even Baylor, not to mention schools like Ohio State and Oregon pillaging this state,OU can’t compete they way they once did.

My uncle used to call OU the University of Texas North.

2020 happened. I saw Ed O almost murder Pelini on the sideline during the Alabama game.

That year was an experiment. Literally no one outside of Tuscaloosa acknowledges it. It was an exhibition win over a 7 win team during a season that featured cardboard cutouts, opt outs, and female kickers.
