My only regret is I had a couple more great thread ideas to get though the last week of the offseason that will go to waste now

They're salty and it's funny. They've been insufferable, motherless fricks about this since the weekend. Oh well.

The problem is that a show cause probably gets LSU off the hook for $72 mil so I’d rather he gets to stick around and just keep causing messes like this

The guy is shite from a butt. But he'll always be that no matter where he hangs his hat. You just want people to come around to seeing the absolute narcissist that he is. A casual glance at social media would indicate a lot of college football fans see that. Him and LSU fans are made for each other, however and as evil seems to prevail in the world these days I remain pessimistic about the gavel of humility being dropped on LSU.


I don't know who would pursue this anyway? I don't believe the NCAA has any teeth.

The rules are retarded for everyone but Lane's own actions have people dunking on him. Lane has never wanted his behavior to be criticized even here(easiest example is not playing Bentley in 24).

I do see how the class of 2022 got screwed. But it's also hard to feel too bad for them when they are first class to have NIL available to them their entire collegiate career and through their senior year of hs recruiting. I don't like the 5 for 5 to begin with, not sure why it's always been you have 4 years with redshirt and medical exemptions, but now everyone has 5 years.

As for Wright and Harris, I do think they would have declared this year even if they had the ability to go back. Wright was All-SEC and was thought to be an NFL draft pick. Didn't work out that way, but both him and Harris were thought to be draft picks at the end of last season so I think they would have declared anyways. There are tons of others I think 100% would have stayed in school had they been given the option so I still see the argument that the timeline screwed them.

The only statement I’ve seen him come out seemed within reason. It’s fair to say wright and harris should have been notified they can play a fifth year, because the ruling leaves a lot of money in the table for both of them.

Lane’s handling of Bentley is way more bewildering to me

I 100% support this. And maybe I'm just old but I just hate the complete lack of loyalty to schools in exchange for loyalty to mammon. I don't have any issue providing NIL income, whatever that figure is for the individual, but I simply won't endorse having to re-recruit players at the conclusion of each season. They don't even do this in the pros. You sign a contract, you want out in a year, fine but you're going to get a reduced bag. I'd much rather watch the development of high schoolers and cheer their progression through one program. What's wrong with that? I don't know who the frick is on our team from one year to the next with the exception of the absolute stand outs. It used to be fun to anticipate the buildup to signing day and score your "guy." Now...why bother. I hate that. The loopholes and bypasses, and work arounds, wild west absolutely sucks. I'm by no means saying we're not guilty either because we certainly took our liberties and used the NCAA's own language to make it happen with TC but it we want it all back all this has to go in the fire. All of it.

And for the record I'm not trying to generalize all LSU fans, there are some of you here that I enjoy your takes and appreciate your honesty and humbleness. I'm glad you can comment on our board.

They went to the NFL. They took money from a team, practiced, and played.

You can no longer come back to college.

They would have returned just like every other class of 2022 athlete had the NCAA ruled in a timely manner. They’ve never competed in the NFL. Do people think Harris practicing with the saints for a summer without being paid constitutes being ineligible?

Every class of 2022 athlete should be eligible to compete per the rules, and after that under no circumstances should “professional athletes” be allowed to return to college.

By the way, Ole Miss isn’t very serious in this pearl clutching. You made your should be NFL quarterback eligible through a kangaroo court just like LSU went the injunction route. If fair is fair all three athletes discussed should be ineligible but if Ole Miss gets to bend the rules then LSU certainly should.


I completely agree. None of the former and current Ole Miss athletes discussed should be playing college football this year.
