The events of this offseason have only confirmed my feelings that there are too many lawyers/judges in this world with way too much free time.

LSU is so hate-able right now. It's unbelievable. I should probably stay away from SEC Rant right now.

I think of UGA in 2024 with Beck getting hurt. If you make it to that game you’re in the playoffs. Better to not risk getting injuries and just focusing on the playoffs instead.

So Wright and Harris have burned bridges with both the NFL and the Ole Miss fanbase and will probably not receive a penny from LSU or get to play for them. They were pretty poorly advised. Maybe one day they'll be remembered for their contributions here, but it will take awhile for fans to be ok with everything that happened.

I think you’re placing too much faith in the committee’s ability to make the right choices.
Miami didn’t play in the ACC CG and made the cfp while the team that won the cg didn’t make the cfp.
Conference championship games are largely useless unless it’s for a g5 conference trying to get a spot to get blown out in the first round

Same. I’m not sure it’s fair to expect loyalty from NIL-era players. I mean, applaud and be grateful for the Suntarines, but you can’t fault these kids for maximizing their earning potential.

The SEC could forfeit any conference games that the players participate in, thereby, giving them 9 losses on their schedule, which eliminates them from post season play.

I was just arguing against the notion that only banning them from the SECCG would mean anything. But all conference games, yes that would do the trick.

NCAA rules can’t prevent them from coming back, per a judge’s order. It would have to be an SEC rule, which means the conference would have to call a special meeting to make that specific rule. LSU would just go for a restraining order from a judge in Louisiana, and we know how that will go.
I could be wrong, and Sankey could have the authority to make the call on his own. But it would all still play out the same way.

The NCAA has personal jurisdiction in every state where they have a member institution, which is why they can be sued in state court and can't pull to federal (no diversity).
The players suing the conferences would create diversity, and the conferences could remove from state court to federal.

Enough pressure can be put on LSU for them to change course. It worked for the Big 12 putting pressure on Texas Tech. LSU can't go head to head against every other SEC school.

That signed a NFL contract - so i think mini camp players are exempt.

Just went back and looked at Wright’s game stats. Honestly surprised because I thought he was more of a key player than he was. Against SEC defenses he had good games against Arkansas and LSU (lol) but basically disappeared against everyone else. 1 TD against South Carolina and 3/36 against UF were his biggest games.
