I agree, and she shouldn’t get the same calls. Use his strengths not his obvious weaknesses.

LOL - They gifted him six on that play when they drifted Najee out of the backfield. Jalen tucked it and ran instead. His obvious weakness is seeing the field and delivering the ball.

Hurts' Dad is approaching Lavar Ball levels of delusion.

The voices I'm hearing from inside (my head) say that Jalen was not the stand up guy that he portrayed himself to be last year. He was all humble pie, #blessed, when he was starting, but once he lost that job we began to see the real Jalen and the real Hurts parents. The apple usually doesn't land too far from the tree.

On the sidelines I see a Jalen Hurts who isn't really that involved anymore and upon whose face false humility no longer covers aloofness. Saying stuff like he did in August, and holding team meetings where he tells people that he's got to do what's best for him, supposedly quitting the team and his dad saying he's going to be a free agent. This guy is poison. I used to really like Jalen...not any more.

Guys, don't start this shite. It's like anytime we miss on a recruit - he's not that good anyway.

While most of you were still arguing Jalen was a great passer, I was pointing out his flaws. But, there's no reason to turn on him as a person. He's willing to stay, in case he's needed. He could just bail. I haven't seen anything from him that leads me to believe he's done anything except compete for the job with a good attitude. His parents are just like your and my parents. They should shut up, but they think Jalen is great.

his Dad being a supposed coach, what in the hell ever made him think Jalen was a quarterback? Cost the kid a hell of a lot of potential NFL money.

Because Jalen was the victim of putting your best athlete at QB. This is a problem that starts at the Pop Warner level. Jalen had the potential to be a QB, but never received proper coaching. All they coached him to do is throw it to people wide open and if they aren't, Vick it. It has hurt so many black "QBs" that actually had the arm strength and potential.

Assuming this is true, Jones would have to start getting more reps since he would then be the backup. Assuming Tua doesn't get injured, how fricking rusty is Jalen going to be when he doesn't take a game snap for like 3 months?

Parents are there to parent so I have no issue with them involved just when his dad is public about it.

A great plan sounds like for everyone involved. Tua the starter, Jones will get experience, and Jalen is willing to continue to train and be used if needed. He saves a year of eligibility. In Decemeber he becomes a grad transfer with 2 years to play for another program and it opens a spot for an EE for us. Perfect scenario.

And for those that have issues with Jalen grow up. He went 26-2 as a starter for UA including a 15-2 record against ranked teams.. Broke multiple records at UA. SEC Offensive player of the year as a true freshman. But some of you are so spoiled you overlook that when I remember many years over the past 40+ years I have been following UA he would have been great for our program.

When I look back on #2's career that Ole Miss game in 2016 will be the one that I will remember him the most. He took a pretty good beating and kicked their azz.

95% of the teams in college football are F'ed if their starting QB goes down (see FSU in 2017) so lets hope for some injury luck for a change.

OH and #2 had the same problems in HS as he does at Bama if and when he played anybody that was worth a shet and his father understands that better than anybody.

ummmm no. That's a lack of coaching. If he had been properly taught to read a defense, to place a ball in a spot, to lead receivers, to look off safeties and so on, he would be a phenomenal QB with his legs. Tua received that and that is why he is awesome.

No. You're not completely wrong but mostly wrong. He does have major issues with reading defenses, seeing the field and overall awareness but that's not it. His main issue is accuracy. He does not possess touch on long balls. He cannot place the ball where he wants to. It's all over the place. He has big problems with consistency on his throwing motion. Sometimes the ball just comes out wrong and flutters. Normally underthrown or in the dirt.

To say that the only thing separating Tua and Jalen is coaching and awareness is ridiculous. Tua has the ability put velocity on the ball and put it right on the money almost every time. That's arm talent. Jalen has some arm strength but it's not the same as arm talent.

Accuracy can be taught with repetition and coaching. You can do drills to improve accuracy. Tua has been doing that since he's was a kid. His huge hands help with that because he can get more spin and more velocity, that is just a physical attribute that sets him apart. What I'm saying is that if Jalen had been receiving proper QB coaching from the time he was 10, he'd be a much different and better QB. He has the physical attributes, just hasn't had the right person mold them.

In all honesty, what other position could Jalen have (or have had) an NFL future at? I don’t see one.

Personally, I don't think Jalen makes it the whole season despite the "agreement". Hard to put in the work when there's no potential of reward.

H back, safety maybe. If Enos can improve his throwing, all around, and he gets some good QB coaching the next two years and improve dramatically, he may be able to get a camp invite as an UDFA

Would only use him in goal line or short yardage situations in games like Miss State, LSU, Barn if needed or in the playoffs. Tua goes down for some extended time or we need him to win the Natty, all bets are off.

Hurts transferring and starting at QB elsewhere is probably best for all parties involved.

If I was him I would take the red shirt and not play another snap. Stay healthy, get stronger, and work on areas that need work. If his focus is now on transferring 100% get prepared.

He should.

If his father were smart he'd tell Jalen to take the redshirt and move to safety.

If you watch, his lack of accuracy is almost always due to a late release. His decision making is slow and he ends up behind the receivers.

The difference in great quarterbacks and everyone else is how the game slows down for them. That happened for Tua before he got here. If it ever happens for Hurts, he'll be a great qb.

Our own fans forget that, even with his limitations, Hurts had the best statistical year of any Bama QB in the history of the program. Kiffin coaxed more production out of him than Sims or Coker. There is great potential if he ever learns to see the whole field as plays develop.

He's got four months under Enos and two years somewhere else for that light to switch on. I hope it does.

You realize how predictable those plays would be? Everytime Hurts would come in, you would know it’s most likely going to be a running play.
