Like I say, I used to really like and respect Jalen and I was very much on his side in many ways. Then slowly I began to see another side of him and his family once the position started to slip away from him. First his overbearing, helicopter-dad tried to put the squeeze on Saban with his "Free Agent" spiel. Then that garbage interview in August where Jalen got all snowflakey about not being asked about his feelings. Then he has a team meeting to tell guys that he's gotta do what's best for him - something that did not go over well with other players. Then his parents complaining about his lack of playing time and types of plays called while he was in the game. Then they negotiate a redshirt for him. The parents can't do that without the consent of the player.

Yeah, that stuff does begin to add up in one's mind and in one's perception of a person. I have indeed changed my mind about Jalen. 100% for the team is not 100% when you whine and moan, hold secretive team meetings with veiled comments and try to embarrass the coaches in a pre-season interview all because you are losing the job.

In 2016 after the Ole Miss game I told people that Jalen was not a good passer. People reacted the same way then. Said I was crazy or unappreciative of all the great skills Jalen brought, blah, blah, blah. I saw then that the guy's inability to throw was likely to be problematic down the road. "Oh, no. GFY!" "We winnin' the 'ship with Jalen."

How do they feel about Hurts as a QB now? Here is a little sample of what people think now about him -
"There is no play that Jalen can make better than Tua."
"Play Mac. He's better than Jalen."
"I'll drink draino if Jalen trots out for the first snap."

In due time, I believe that the rest of the "Jalen is holy" crowd will have to see the guy for who he really is. Even Marquis Maze made a veiled reference when noting that on a bad throw Tua doesn't just stare over at the sideline. He looks at his receiver and says, "That's on me."

Folks need to wake up.

How so? I thought the new rule was that he could play up to 6 games.

Did anyone hear the rumor yesterday that Jalen was going to quit the team?

I had a booster tell me last week that Jalen was going to quit in the next couple of weeks. You are probably right about Saban working out a way to keep him. FWIW I really like Jalen and I hope it all works out for him.

Couldn’t listen but I’m curious. What did he say? Was it just the generic, “well, I never said it was confirmed, plans change...” or did he defend what he said? I think he has some legit sources, but he’s still trying to figure out how to handle info now that he has a much bigger voice. It’s one thing to spout off info on BamaOnline, I think he jumped the gun on that report being on Jox. I’m sure that guys like Cecil Hurt know much more than they report, but decide not to for reasons like this.

I love it when these sports guys spout off their opinions as facts you can take to the bank and then get proved hilariously wrong.

Like Cowherd when he said Alabama has a Nick Saban problem and then we win another title. Or Finebaum when we lost to Ole Miss and he predicted the Saban dynasty was over...then we go out curb stomp UGA on the road the next weekend.

I'd like to know this too. I think it was Landrum Roberts who was doing most of the "reporting" on Friday; Suttles initially was pretty clear that Jalen redshirting was his opinion, not fact. Roberts was the one who kept saying it was "breaking news" and such.

I don't think this necessarily ends the potential for Jalen to transfer.

He still has two games to play, if Tua goes out for the season and Hurts is supposed to be the starter - he definitely won't worry about the red shirt thing.

They may have wanted to give him a lot of reps in last weeks game because they plan on sitting him for the rest of the season unless Tua gets an injury - still gives you two games in case Tua gets a minor injury that needs a little bit of rest with Jalen still being able to use the redshirt.

He could have also decided that mop up duty and being fully on the team as a back up was worth using up a year of eligibility for his goals.

This weeks game should shed a lot of light on what to expect moving forward.

Oh, come on. If judging others on a sports message board is a sin then we're all going straight to hell, just like my Mama said. You included.

In which case Mac Jones could have used more than handing it off mop up duty these first 2 games.

I never claimed to be a qualified fruit inspector. I asked a question. Didn't say he doesn't love the Lord. He also has said on here that his calling as pastor is to stand in judgement over his congregation. We just interpret the Word a little differently.

He said that? Further proof that he's human garbage.

He also seems to believe that it is his duty to shite on kids who have given 100% of their effort to the university he claims to support.

He didn't learn either of those things in any seminary. Nor did he learn it from the Bible.

ETA - when you cross the line from critiquing performance to impugning a players character based on your own ignorance, you've crossed the line into trash. Fans like that are disgusting.
