No link yet but reported on 3 man front. Suttles said that Jalen would redshirt barring Tua getting injured

I think its probably best for Jalen and us. We can start giving more reps to someone that will be here next year.

Interesting if true. Hopefully this is a mutual decision that all parties see as the best path forward at this point.

If this is the plan, I'm assuming we won't see him again until the Iron Bowl or SEC Champ game (hopefully).

I think it's what most expected to happen. Then, I could tell by the way Saban avoided the subject yesterday that they must have had a discussions about it.

Suttles said-thinks Jalen's parents have met with Saban about preserving his red shirt. If this is true, can you imagine Saban answering questions about this issue.

why IB. We have some important games on the road in the SEC where his RPO skills may be needed for a series or two. But I am fine giving Jones all back up snaps. We RS Jalen means he is going to transfer out at end of the year

I honestly don't see a single scenario where Jalen's "skill set" would be better out there than Tua's. It's not like Tua can't run RPO's better than Jalen. Play Tua, let Mac be the backup, use Jalen in 3 more games if you want.

That is apparently the intention of Jalen's parents. He will be gone after he graduates.

I agree with that but Bama doing a RS for Tua benefits him and whatever school he transfers too. His skill set, unless he stays at Bama and learns a new position, is good for the GA Techs of the world.

We will know for sure after the game Saturday. If Jones is the 1st QB off the bench, we know Jalen will use the 4 game red shirt rule. Did anyone hear the rumor yesterday that Jalen was going to quit the team? Maybe this was what Saban worked out to keep him at Alabama.

I hope this is true. IMO its the best solution for Jalen and the team.

If this is the plan I'm hoping we never see him on the field again because if we do it may mean something bad happened.

I'm listening now. They say Hurts' family came to an agreement with the program to only play if Tua gets hurt.
