First Topics

1. Who's QB1? Who do you want to win it? Who actually wins it?

2. Biggest Question Mark? What position, unit, or general "thing" are you most worried about?

3. Predict our record. If we lose, who is it to?

Answers:
1) King, King, King

2) it’s gotta be WR right? We haven’t had a legit WR step up and be a stud since….when? Stewart could be the guy, as well as a few others who (from reading reports) seem to be having good camps

3) 9-3 or 10-2, it’s kind of cheating picking two potential records but I could legitimately see either one. We have a tough stretch of games where a few could go either way. After the Miami game I’ll know which way I leaning more towards

Good to have this thread! Been itching for some football conversation!

1. King, then the freshman, Max at the end. Weigman needs more time in the system and Max while a decent QB, isnt the guy. He's a good/solid backup that gives you depth, but I dont think he's the guy to take us to a double digit win season.

2. Offense in general. I havent been super impressed with Jimbo's offenses since he got here and this season we are still figuring out QB 1, dont have a stand out/game changing WR, have new faces on the OL..... add it all up and it makes me worry we still wont move the ball consitently and put up enough points.

3. 9-3. Loses to Bama, Ole Miss, and drop a 3rd game to someone we shouldnt. I think we get back on track vs Arky and think we can handle a rebuilding LSU at home, so as much as it sucks to say, maybe MSU again? MSU or Arky I guess.

4. (adding on to your post) Anything sub 9 wins is a failure in my eyes and Fisher's seat really starts to heat up. I realize he has a long time left on the extended contract with a lot of gaurenteed money, but we arent paying top dollar for 8-4 finishes and watching an offense that belongs back in the 1990s. I'm fine with ball control offense that limits the time the defense is out on the field, but Fisher has to find a way to open it up some and put more points up.

1. I think King wins it. I want him to because I want to see how explosive the offense can be with his wheels. But I also want Weigman to come in and take over. I would like to have an elite talent behind center for 3-4 years even if there are some freshman growing pains. Max is probably much better than I have given him credit for. If he's back there then we're not competing for a title. That doesn't mean he can Mond his way to 10 wins.

2. I worry about early season gelling. I think the OL & DL will be as good or better this year... eventually. The raw talent is there. They just need to play together and get a feel for the speed (for the young bucks).

3. I am town between 9-3 and 10-2. I'll go 10-2 just because I think King can be a game changer. Bama & Florida.

4. I think Fisher made it clear before last year the goal was to open up the offense. Than Calzada happened. He mentioned it in an interview with Pate that personal limited what the offense could do. Between King, Weigman, Stewart, & Marshall the talent is there for the passing game to get explosive. We all know Achane is that kind of dude.

It has to be King, unless it is Weigman. I think we see an improvement at WR with Coley now coaching them. More of a rotation as well. My biggest concern is at LB, and the lack of depth there. Our season is largely dependent on Cooper remaining healthy.

The offensive talent is in place for a good offense. This season will answer a lot of questions I have about Fisher and his coaching philosophy.

1) King & King

2) OL Health/Depth - The injuries we had upfront early last season were just brutal and set the stage for things going off the rails. Obviously, it didn't stop there and we basically had injury issues across the board through the season (Most notably King). I think if we keep our starting 5 healthy and don't have to constantly shuffle combinations this season the offense can gel together and we might have something. Also, Achane is the real deal and if we can move people off the LOS consistently he is going to be a problem, and the QB situation won't matter nearly as much.

3) 11-1 (or 8-4). I think LSU, Arkansas, and MSU are pretty close together. If we find something at QB and the offense is just efficient our defense can do the heavy lifting against those teams and we beat them all. If not, we probably lose them all. I'm probably wrong I just think the in between (10-2 or 9-3) is actually less likely than the high/low extremes.

King.

Offensive Line. Absolute must for us to have a good to great line in the SEC.

10-2 Bama, Ole Miss

Tired of hearing about Jimbo's conservative offense from fans of other schools. Really tired of watching it myself also.... yikes.

If we get good oline play and he doesn't open the offense up then we got a bigger problem. Open it up and let's go.

Another random thing I've noticed is that Jimbo is pretty chipper when talking about this year's team. I haven't noticed this kind of confidence before or at least I don't remember it.

I’ve noticed that too. I think he knows what he’s got in terms of talent this year, probably the best team (on paper) he’s had here

1) King has apparently been playing qb1 since the open practice. Johnson will be qb2 and Weigman in the wings.

2) We are Texas A&M. I sat through 10 of the worst years of aggie football and us dropping a game or two we have absolutely no business dropping is the monkey we've got to get off our back. There. I said it.

3. I'd like no less than 10-2. See above. Likely 9-3.

1. I think it will be Haynes. I am wanting either Haynes or Max. Wanting Conner to get a full year of development before he takes over.

2. Linebackers. I think the lack of numbers there may show up as an issue.

3. 10-2 I think our toughest games will be Alabama, and MsSt which is sandwiched between Arky and Bama.

Honestly, I am expecting between 9-3 to 11-1. Trying to decide if my good vibes about this team are there because the season is so close, or if I truly see a special season this year.

3 weeks motherfers! I have no idea what to expect. Probably another season of mediocrity, but I'm ready for us to break that trend!

Y’all should give Max a shot. I think he unfairly gets hated on by LSU fans. He was thrown into the role at LSU prematurely and had zero organization play calling wise. It was 50/50 on if the OC could get a play called in on time. He did well for what he had.

1. want King but Jimbo probably goes w/Max b/c of accuracy

2. Offense in general. It's been mediocre for the most part under Jimbo and is the main reason we've been below expectations for what a $10m per coach is supposed to do.

3. 7-5 - Miami, Miss St, Bama, Ole Miss, UF. Then when we beat somebody like TCU or Tech in the Texas Bowl Billy L and others will crow about how strong the team finished and that it means '24 will be the big year b/c that's when Weigman will have some experience.

The whole purpose of this thread is to be upbeat and excited about the season. And to escape the negativity in some of the other posts.
Having said that, there is no excuse for losing to the Miss schools and Florida. To do so implicates coaching more than players.

I guess that may be one of your points.
