That's got to be Harbert.
Harbert lead the charge with Leath to sign that idiotic contract 3 yrs ago, and now that Leath is gone he's had to carry to burden of blame 100%. Does he really feel like Steele is the immediate answer? AND why in the world would anyone in the Auburn Administration allow him to have a say-so after that crap he pulled with Gus' contract?

Do you even Auburn?
Steele is the guy and the melt will be large.

My guess based on tidbits, is that the PTB thought Mario was coming. Now the game starts as Oregon has upped the ante. Not sure Auburn has a second choice candidate that we have consensus on. Billy Napier or Kevin Steele, ouch.

He had to know Oregon would counter any offer from another school. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Oregon was working on a contract extension & pay raise.

Gus will enjoy some time off. He'll return to the Plains in a couple of years, receive standing ovations, then run for Senator.

I would be ecstatic with Napier

Rodney Orr claiming Mario Cristobal has legitimate interest and not just contract extension interest.

Harbert is the main reason we got Gus in the first place and he personally vouched for him with the contract extension. His opinion should be the last one listened to here

I say the list goes something like this:
Cristobal- You'll never outbid Phil Swoosh
Freezus- Maybe.
Leipold- Allan Greene hired him once before.
Napier- Don't think it would work out
Chadwell- Auburn loves the latest offensive guru with a new system.
K. Briles- Why not?
A. Briles-No way even Auburn goes there.
