I think we would have a good shot at making the playoffs and we suck

You are hosed either way.

Be careful what you wish for. Rather they lose in the first round, etc.

His wife hates Tuscaloosa.... This actually would be a good fit.
I will admit we are not living up to our standards over the last 8 years, but we are still in the Big 6 (Sorry UT, maybe time to give that up) But some facts, we represented in Atlanta in 2017, won the Conference in 2013 (Lost the NC) and won both in 2010 (15 years ago, my how time flies)
Since 2000, the SEC has dominated college football national championships, with teams like Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Florida winning multiple titles, including streaks of dominance under the BCS and CFP eras, with:
Alabama (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020),
Georgia (2021, 2022), and
LSU (2003, 2007, 2019)
Florida (2006, 2008)
Auburn (2010)
Rest of the SEC (ZERO, etc.)

With Auburn opting out, they should not be eligible for any bowl revenue sharing.
Auburn did not Opt-out of a bowl game. Kansas State (8-4), N. Dame (10-2) and Iowa State(8-4) all opted out. KS and IS were fined by the Conference. Teams with 5 win seasons, chose not to accept. that is an important difference. MSU took the bowl as they had a staff and returning players, Auburn did not have a staff and would have been impossible to implement an Offense in order to play. Also player opt outs would have been huge and would have forced more folks into the portal.

So none of you want Deuce K. or Cam C.? Great...

It’s weird to see two regular-season rematches in the first round of the playoffs.
It is actually stupid. This could have been so easily changed to prevent this.

Golesh, Auburn flip WR Brian Williams Jr. from Alabama

No star, everyone is wrong at times. Hopefully we will not have a coaching search for 20 years. I do try to post with high confidence, nothing is 100% in this business (I have been wrong on this board). I do not have access to any true inside information, but sometimes you learn things. I stay away from paid Auburn sites as the writers occasionally get stuff right, but are too often wrong.
Bottom Line: I am just glad he is staying.

Durkin is not leaving. Not sure of the details, but this is good news for the staff, players, recruits and Auburn.

This had been going for days and possible weeks. The contract came after all the discussions, etc..

I assume this is because of the flip
He is wrong. There is no extension or new contract for DJ. DJ is already one of the highest paid coordinators in the country.

Sumrall 7.5/yr at UF, Golesh 7.4/yr at Auburn. Can we conclude that Cohen definitely screwed the Sumrall deal by trying to force Durkin now?
You did, but it would not be true. Sumrall was not hired after his agent jerked us around. We moved on. Gator fans are upset, with Billy Napier part 2
ETA: I am not a Cohen fan, but he got this one right and we were the first domino.
The rest of the story. Sumrall was coming, but agent wanted more. We offered more, but it became an auction (blame agent). Wife upset and does not want UF, they were in ole miss before.
Golish, got the offer and immediately accepted. No major negotiations.
Who knows what happens, but think Auburn played this one correctly.
