I’m watching film on just run plays from aTm. Our OL caught a lot of heat and it was completely UNDESERVED. They were getting movement and lanes were there. Josh Ford had a horrible horrible game. Every run play that was blown up was his guy except our center pulled and over ran the safety. It’s on The FGN right now.

I agree I am not a fan of Grubb. Just my opinion as a former OL no not at college level but when you have a young OL run blocking is easier than pass blocking mainly because you allow them to be aggressive. I think they can run the ball effectively if the OC and HC would actually commit to it. There were plenty of games when evenly matched the run game wasn’t clicking under Saban and some of our old OCs but they stuck to it and things started clicking. I don’t have my head in the sand and understand there needs to be changes but these idiots hate everything and everyone. Things have certainly improved from the last two years but it’s just not where we want it yet. This was a young team and everyone here understood that prior to the first four e games. Then suddenly Bama started playing joyless murder ball against teams that weren’t as talented. I get that but last year and the year before were weren’t doing that to any teams. Every game was close. Bama is beating who they should and outside of TN game are playing competitively against teams with deeper rosters like Georgia. We expected 3-4 losses prior to the season with a young team but after the first five games some of the fans expectations became unrealistic.

That’s rule was nixed. Not happening.

Yes it can if you establish a run game and have a flow to your offensive game plan. You pull those stats but Alabama also put up what 40/45 against Georgia the first year. To me the change in offense is small commit to the run game and allow your QB to get settled, find some quick passes for your QB to get his head straight and then as they began to pull safeties up and add players to the box you then hit them with play action. Everyone is playing us with 2 safeties over the top. They’re daring you to run because they know you don’t have the patience to commit to it.

No coach worth his salt blasters his OC in the media or in front of his players. Cannot happen because if the players don’t believe you’re screwed already. We will find out this week whether Grub s ego is just too big or will he relent and understand we can and are a good running football team. He has to commit to it though. You can’t run three plays go three and out and throw your hands up. Plenty of games with Saban we went yheee and out the first couple of drives but eventually wore in them and the pass opened up eventually. I don’t think you can pass successfully without committing to running the ball.

This I never understand why fans feel the need to congratulate the other team like we had anything to do with the performance or in our case lack thereof.

Any team who storms the field against this Alabama team has not arrived yet.
