What? How in the world is he a "huge gamble?"

Because he's been out of CFB and a "loose cannon?"

Any big time CFB program with an opening would be idiotic not to make a run the guy if he wants to get back on the sidelines. He's got the best resume in CFB that doesn't belong to Saban or Dabo

The very last guy I'd want AU to hire as a UGA fan

His name has been popping up for ages now. That's what I was talking about. It's also a bit of a running joke among Vol faithful. Last cycle one UT beat reporter kept pushing Steele to the point that even after a hire was made we were "Steele waiting."

You quoted my post do I assume you read it. UM is 56 and hasn’t been employed in CFB for two seasons. Why do you think that is? AU’s recruiting is in the shatter, as I mentioned. Is UM going to turn that around in 1/2/3 seasons? He’ll be 60 in 3 years and he already left one program due to health. Do you know what a grind it is to coach CFB? UM’s done. His football success is behind him.

SOS quit because he couldn’t handle the grind. You think UM is better equipped?

Jack Crain seems to think it's Cristobal.

A lot of buzz in Eugene---at least one report
says Auburn's interest in Cristobal has
sped up work on a long term contract with
hefty dollars involved to keep Cristobal at Oregon,
that would be finalized at season's end.

cause he's quite comfortable doing what he's doing now.

Do you actually thing he's been knocking on doors looking for work?

How long was Mack Brown out of coaching? Much longer than 2 years.

its been fine up till this year. Not Bama or UGA levels but there's talent walking around campus. You think one bad year is gonna side track them indefinitely? Kirby inherited one of worst classes (2013) in UGA history.

His "health" is fine and no idea why you keep bringing up his age.Saban is 13 years older, Leach 3 years older and Jimbo the same age.Hell,Id take em if he's only gonna coach for 5 years if I'm Texas or AU.

You have NO idea what you're talking about and Auburn or any other big time school with a vacancy would snatch him up in a second if he expressed interest

He was 70 freakin years old! Do you not see the difference in being 15 years y?ounger

Of course he is

Chizik is coming back.
I wondered why he wasn't on SEC Network on Saturday, now I know. He was working out the details of coming back to Auburn.

Next up, getting Cam enrolled for his MBA.

Also, I know this was probably in the works for a few weeks, but I wonder if the announcers' comments at the end of the game Saturday about Gus saying even as close to 2 weeks before the season started he didn't know if they would be playing may have pushed a few of the big money folks over the edge.

Maybe I took what they were saying the wrong way, but it sure sounded to me like in their conversation with Gus, he was saying that even with the SEC full speed ahead on the season, he wasn't sure if the Auburn football team would play due to Covid concerns and sjw hurt feelings. If that was indeed the case, I could see that shifting a lot of feelings against him.
