Siesta is nice, but AMI is better.

ETA: Most Florida Panhandle beaches should be Alabama’s but they were stolen.

Weren’t they traded for like a barrel of whiskey or something?

I don’t think beach vacations where a thing back in the early 1800’s.

Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is actually very nice. It's the demographics that makes it suck.

South Carolina has some nice beaches if you stay away from Myrtle Beach.

Agreed. Hilton Head is nice, Myrtle is crap.

It's the city. It's Branson or Gatlinburg on the ocean, and the whole shag dancing thing is gay.

Hilton Head is better, but I love the natural beauty of Hunting Island and Edisto.

Born and raised in South Carolina....Myrtle beach sucks....North Myrtle, Cherry Grove area good.....Charleston and Beaufort area beaches good (Fripp at the top here). I would put Florida gulf coast beaches ahead of any in South Carolina though. Miami Beach and the Atlantic side not impressive at all.

The Atlantic beaches kind of suck unless you like hard sand and brown water.

I haven't been to the southern Atlantic beaches in forever, but Virginia Beach doesn't fit that description.

My rank-based experience:

1. Florida
2 Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Mississippi
5. Louisiana
6. Texas

Never been to a beach in SC so unfair to rank.

Panhandle was a great place pre interwebs (excluding PCB) Now it's full of pasty Midwesterners along with tourist from Arkansas, Tennessee, etc

I prefer the Atlantic side for that reason alone although the beaches obviously aren't as nice.

he shitty beaches in Texas are no better than either one though.

South Padre Island is far, but it's actually really nice.

I'd probably rank it this way.

1 - Florida
2 - SC & Georgia
4 - Texas
5 - Alabama & Mississippi
7 - Louisiana

We don’t have beaches in Louisiana. Lol
Well… there is Grand Isle, but I seriously doubt that even a 1/5 of a percent of people that don’t live in So Louisiana have been there.

Theres Florida. And everyone else in a distant rear view mirror.

Orange Beach, AL is 2nd second.

I don’t care who’s third or 4th.

Florida. Panhandle beaches are hard to beat anywhere on the planet. Mississippi islands are tough to beat. Parts of Alabama are Panhandle quality. Georgia and SC beaches are pretty rough as are most Atlantic coast beaches...

I don’t think OP has ever seen the coast before based on their rankings

Florida
Alabama
South Carolina
Georgia

This is right. And LA should be at the bottom beneath Texas (and Mizzou and Arkansas). Hanging out on the Ozarks shores has to beat the LA coast

Seems right and that is only because the South Texas beaches are fairly undisturbed. Gulf Beaches starting from Freeport, TX to Pascagoula, MS are basically carcinogen zones that sometimes feature poor white trash, low rent table gaming, and Mississippi Delta Silt.

South Padre definitely probably as nice as beaches in Texas get. Except during Red Tide, or when the jelly fish wash up on shore.
