These guys are not stopping with this. They are also trying to encrypt over the air stations so there will be no more 'free TV'. They will all do it before it's all said and done. The issue is carriage fees but ESPN is also pushing for their ESPN Ultimate to be a part of the deal. I am going to end up with just the ESPN Ultimate before it's all said and done and depend on Pluto or another free service. The problem with that is they are owned by these companies Pluto (CBS), TUBI (Fox), Freevee (Amazon) and so on and so on. We screwed... :violin:

Beamer's looking for an aggressive OC...
Not no... but HELL NO !!!!! We need a young guy who can think on his feet, not some old guy looking for another gig. Damn,,,

. So they never cheated before Dabo?
See.. you post dumb stuff you are clueless about. The church members that were providing jobs and housing was not an NCAA violation. There was nothing 'free' in what they were doing (I would argue that was BS) and the NCAA could not do anything to stop it. It was widely known it was going on. It was done out in the open. The cheating was not in violation. It worked while it worked... but like I said the NIL kicked that crap out the window.

Dabo is an excellent coach
Let me explain Dabo to you. There are 2 mega churches in the upstate and their members provided jobs and housing for recruits for years. That was No 1. The No.2 is when Dabo took his hands off the offense and hired an OC and a DC who could coach. Dabo is just they guy who cannot coach but used the 'stretching of the rules' and good hires to get players and wins. The NIL made that moot and that is why Dabo hated the NIL. He knew it would be his end game.

Ray Tanner was a cancer to this program as an AD.
That we can agree on. The problem now is the NIL and transfer portal that will keep every power 4 program in flux. Beamer will be as good as anyone else as coach for the next few years. He just needs to get better assistants and get a top-notch OC. This is no time to be changing coaches because there is no stability anywhere.

The SEC and power 4 dilemma

Posted by flagshipuniversity on 10/27/25 at 8:47 am
There is always going to be a game between SEC teams where one team wins, and the other loses (duh). The parity is so close that any given weekend the upsets are going to happen. The word "upset" should just be removed altogether. The coaches are paid millions upon millions and there is no way they can all produce a winning season. The money and the fan base seeing results one year and failure the next is going to be the "normal" rather than the exception. That alone should stop the 10 year 10 million dollar or more contracts. The payouts cannot continue at that rate. I have said before that like the NFL the money is going to shift to the players in a few years. It's getting closer but these are now professional programs and will shift in that very direction. The 6 or more coaches being fired at power 4 schools are upon us. I just hope we all don't get priced out.
The only teams that can pull an SEC coach that is good is another SEC team.

Dan Mullen would be a good choice for Kentucky or Arkansas but not Penn St. Mullen is not a national championship type coach and that is what Penn St will be after.

I really don't like apologizing for our fans but geez this was a bad idea. We are in no position to trash any coach, team or school in any way. I would think you would understand our history and stop the silliness.

Going the route of NASCAR wearing corporate logos and patches. College football no longer exists. It was fun while it lasted. It's all greed and chasing the money. I am almost through with the smoke screen and am growing tired of the greed. I don't blame the kids. I would take the money and run also. I blame those who are still profiting off the fans whether in the stadium or increase prices to view the games on streaming sites. It's going to backfire sooner or later. Fans can only absorb so much.

What a lil bitch.
So you are going to let Beamer ruin your day.... :rotflmao: You really need to get a life... a real one not a keyboard life. Geez.... X marks the spot.... that ruined your day.
I am hoping for UGA and Vanderbilt or Tennessee. Those are easy "get to" games. There is already enough long-distance games without adding a Texas A&M or Missouri as a permanent part of it.

I asked ChatGPT to give me a top 25 ranking. Here's how it did:
The problem.... ChatGTP uses the information available to it. If you add the strength of roster and stats through week 3 and the strength of schedule independently you would get a different Top 25. ChatGTP just used the available Top 25's and much like On3 and divvied it up.
The biggest problem with the NIL is continuity. The rosters are totally different, and they take time to gel. It's going to be a problem every year going forward. There are no real good players staying together for a few years to get acclimated to what each expects of the other. That and add coaching coordinators moving freely as well. It's a guessing game what any roster will look like from seasons end... to the next season. I used to as a kid have a favorite player I could watch on my team for 4 years. That same player today would be gone tomorrow to another payday. It's sad but true. I don't blame the kids for going for the money. I blame the athletic departments for the bidding war they created. Things are only worth what someone is willing to pay....

He going to get fired soon?
No... every team since the NIL came about has had unexplained losses. Losing Sellers was a huge reason for the lopsided score but I am not sure we could have won the game regardless. Steve Spurrier was 31-22 at this same point and Shane is 31-23. He seat is not even warm yet nor should it be.

Vandy has truly arrived.
We are 30-4 against Vandy with a 16 game streak. They beat Alabama last year but lost to us 28-7 at their place. They might be "due" but arrived is a stretch.

Please Get TAMU Out Of This Conference
No.... and get a life. Unless every team ends up 4-4 this season then you are going to have 8-0's or 7-1's or more likely 6-2's.....for every one of those there will be a 0-8, 1-7 and 2-6's. You are too dumb to realize this I am guessing. TAM is just fine. End of story.... geez... Life in the SEC is rough.
