The Army vs. Navy game could move to Thanksgiving Weekend, or perhaps earlier in the year, to make way for different College Football Playoff games...
quote:

“Army football coach Jeff Monken favors moving the historic Army-Navy game to Thanksgiving weekend, he told The Athletic, a move that could free up the College Football Playoff to start a week earlier,” The Athletic reported.

“The Army-Navy game has been played on the second Saturday of December since 2009 to stand apart from conference championship games. Prior to that, it was usually played the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend, protecting it from being played amid other rivalry games.”

Monken is pushing for widespread changes, too, like moving the entire calendar up so the season ends on Jan. 1.

“There’s not an appetite for the college football season to go all the way to the end of January,” Monken said. “There’s a real hope that we can get this thing into one semester, and have the championship game around Jan. 1, which I think would be awesome.”

I don’t care what day it is, that’s the game I’ll be watching.

Sounds like it would be the Saturday after Thanksgiving…which kinda sucks for Mids or Cadets looking forward to a “long” Thanksgiving with family. On Thanksgiving Day? Not sure going up against the NFL is a wise money choice.

Those cadets don't get a long Thanksgiving weekend now. They're practicing.

WHY was this game allowed to be played AFTER everybody’s 12-game season was over?

What’s one more tradition to burn down? Might as well.

F that.

As a WP father, I love having day where that’s the only game going on the FBS universe.

Moving it to Thankgiving day seems like the best thing IMO, but the NFL has a stick up their butt about stuff like that. Second best would be the day after. Just move all the other Friday games to Saturday.

I thought Trump either did or was going to sign an executive order protecting the Army Navy game as being the only game on that Saturday. If moved to Thanksgiving weeked, that wouldn't be at all possible.

Boooooo fricking shorten the playoff and leave this game alone. The only game I watch anymore.

Ew. No. It should remain where it is as the only game that day

I like the idea. To each their own...
