re: Is playing the Shift the new thing in the SEC baseball?

I always thought that the shift in the days before analytics was based on a coach’s gut feeling or him seeing tendencies that made him switch things up.
Now it feels like there is a computer that does the math real time on situations before the pitch, and the coaches just roll with the computer based on the situation when it spits out “play shift” here.

I feel like in years past, there have been games we are in that formation 40% of the game. I always wondered why we did it more vs you guys compared to other teams.

That’s what I’m trying to get to. What are these specific situations that the book says, play the shift.
There was a similar comment I caught from an announcer insinuating that the shift tipped a batter what pitch was likely coming.

Should the shift be implemented the entire game like some teams will do, or is it situational or depends what team you play?

A few years ago, not a lot of teams used that alignment. Now it seems to be part of everyone’s game.
How do you beat the Shift consistently?

Would be a mismatch to put a LB in space against Milroe if he was a TE. Sending him on a crossing route alone would get him separation with his jets.

Feleipe Franks is a guy that should have switched. I wonder if he ever was asked to.

Looks like D.J. Uiagalelei might be a TE at the next level. I can see that.
Any other QBs that should consider it?

I love how it’s a competition. Like the Sooners and horn want everyone to hate A&M as much as they do. And it’s just annoying people.
Hope to see you in a regional.

re: Sanders finally drafted?

Ewers and Sanders will be free agents. That’s what they get for throwing check downs for 80% of their passes.

I haven’t kept up, but did he get drafted before Armstrong? Holy crap, I think both are very good players

Same class as Conor Weigman and the Clemson QB, shouldn’t have come out early, but there was an article out that his options were transfer portal or draft bc it was Manning time
