I know this whole thread was started by an alter (most likely Stephen), but when someone posts this post, I have to chime in.

The ONLY SEC Football program that is more successful than LSU over the last 25 years is Alabama. That’s it. One

So… if you want to say that LSU is the red headed step child to Bama, sadly, we have to live with that.

But…. LSU isn’t a red headed step child to anyone else in this conference in Football.

Over the last 25 years:

LSU 3 National Championships
5 SEC Championships

Georgia 2 National Championships
5 SEC Championships

Ok. I am going to pretend he didnt nearly beat Auburn at the buzzer like three times

2005 Tennessee, 2009 Ole Miss, 2010 Tennessee, 2012 Alabama, 2012 Clemson & 2016 Wisconsin all strongly disagree with you.

Just lol!!

Les had his strengths, but game management certainly wasn’t one of them. Lol

Weak field but someone has to win

Vol Fans never fail to demonstrate how truly ignorant they are about college baseball.

5 of the 8 teams in the CWS have all won National Championships since 2010:
LSU 2023
Oregon St 2018
Coastal Carolina 2016
UCLA 2013
Arizona 2012

6 of the 8 have all played in the CWS Finals since 2010:
LSU 2017 & 2023
UCLA 2010 & 2013
Arizona 2012 & 2016
Coastal Carolina 2016
Oregon St 2018
Arkansas 2018

7 of the 8 have had multiple trips to Omaha since 2010:
Arkansas 2012, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2025
LSU 2013, 2015, 2017, 2023, 2025
Louisville 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019, 2025
Oregon State 2013, 2017, 2018, 2025
Arizona 2012, 2016, 2021, 2025
UCLA 2010, 2012, 2013, 2025
Coastal Carolina 2016 & 2025

This was a well written article. Nice job!

Per 24/7, LSU’s secondary was VERY talented

Do you guys know football? Do you watch SEC games???? Seriously?!?!

You read 247 articles and think you know what you are talking about.

There isn’t a single coach in the SEC that would have traded their secondary last year for LSU’s. Not one!

You guys must only watch Bama football games and read articles. If you know football talent, at all, you could obviously see a serious difference in talent level between LSU and So Carolina, Ole Miss, Bama, and Texas A&M last year. Our talent level, specifically on defense was the worst since the Curley Hallman years.
Excellent recruiter except for O-Lineman and QB’s, which I could never understand since he was an ex-O-lineman.

Had tough as nails teams. Very physical. Could just straight up beat most teams physically.

Some of the worst QB play I’ve ever seen once Jimbo’s QB’s graduated.

Stubborn as a mule. Could never learn from prior mistakes. Who lines up and runs the toss dive over and over again against a Bama front of 9 players????

Worst clock management I’ve ever seen by a coach at that level.

Look Dude, LSU didn’t even have the 8th best roster in the SEC.

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, So Carolina, OU all had better rosters than LSU.

It was painfully obvious how significantly better Bama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and So Carolina’s rosters were than LSU’s last year.

When we played Ole Miss, I told everyone around me that this was the first time that I could remember since 2008 that Ole Miss’ players were all bigger, stronger, faster than LSU’s. There was a serious difference in talent level between the two teams. Kiffin coached a really poor game that night or Ole Miss wins by double digits.

247 Talent Composite

Sorry, they are wrong and don’t know shite.

Jacobian Guillory was, by far, our best DT and he was lost for the season 2 weeks before the USC game. The talent level at DT wasn’t even Close to SEC standards.

Our entire secondary was pure trash talent wise. The safeties were the worst, talent wise in over 30 years. The CB’s were beyond weak and not one could have made the two deep for any LSU team from 2001-2019.

You don’t lose Nabers and BTJ at WR and remotely think your WR talent level is even close to really good, much less elite.

Again… we started a walk on at RB.

Sorry… I follow LSU recruiting and our roster very closely. Our talent level, and particularly, on defense was ridiculously poor.
Arkansas is a 1.5 run favorite and rightfully so. Their line up 1-9 is the best in college baseball. I’ve said all year that this is the most complete team in college baseball and the favorites to win it all.

LSU is playing some of its best ball of the season and is always formidable in Omaha, so hopefully we bring that magic this year.

Going to be a lot of fun!

I love this upcoming weekend! Father’s Day; CWS - LSU vs Arkansas; and US Open Golf. Doesn’t get any better!

LSU had the 8th most talented roster in the country last year.

By whose logic?

LSU had trash DT’s, trash CBs, & trash safeties. The talent level at those positions, last year, weren’t even close to SEC standards.

Our WR’s & RB’s were barely average. Our best WR was hurt until the 6th game of the season. We started a Walk on RB and a true freshman finally started playing in game 3.

I can actually see this happening when DVH decides he’s done. Vitello at Arkansas is a dynamic marriage. As an LSU fan, I don’t want to see it happen as I believe he would be pure greatness there.

That’s why LSU needs to pay Jay Johnson. Just think what this place would turn into if Aggie hired him next year after they shitcan Earley…

Do you even follow LSU baseball? Do you even have a clue about Jay Johnson? He’s never leaving LSU for another college job.
My thoughts on this is very simple.

If you want an extremely successful program that is highly successful over a long period of time, you must have a passionate fanbase behind them. You have to have a fanbase that is totally invested. By totally invested, I mean a fanbase that follows every aspect of the program and discusses every aspect of the program amongst each other.

It’s not only ok to be critical of a coach, it’s actually expected in a highly successful program.

Jay Johnson understands all this. He embraces it and definitely isn’t bothered by it. If he isn’t bothered by it, our fans shouldn’t be bothered by fans simply being fans.
It’s obvious to everyone that winning game one is a huge advantage to whomever wins it.

But…. I remember very well in 2023 when we lost game 2 to #1 Wake Forest, almost everyone thought LSU was dead, because we didn’t have a deep enough, or talented enough pitching staff to come out of the losers bracket. Well…. Our bullpen that struggled all season long came up aces and we made it through and beat Wake twice and got to the CWS Finals.

Skenes pitched the deciding game against Wake, so he was unavailable for the CWS Finals against Florida. Florida had a deep, rested staff, so no one gave us a chance without Skenes.

LSU won the 2023 CWS Title and Skenes never threw a single pitch in the Finals against a significantly better Florida pitching staff.

Didnt Auburn sweep LSU?

Sure they did, but it’s irrelevant. No one cares. Getting to the CWS is everyone’s goal, not making sure you don’t get swept in a sec series.

In 2023, LSU lost to Nicholls State. Does anyone care? Not one bit.

You’re right. Again, there’s nothing wrong about drawing a fortunate regional and a Super Regional opponent like West Virginia. Not sure why LSU fans are sensitive about undeniable facts being laid out

The point is you are constantly singling out LSU.

Georgia got a very favorable draw. Their regional should have been a cake walk and then they would have gotten Murray State in the Supers. But… they couldn’t close the deal.

Texas had a very favorable regional, but couldn’t close the deal.

No Carolina got a favorable draw not having to go up against Oregon. They couldn’t close the deal against Arizona.

I can go on, but I won’t.

You have to beat the teams that you play. West Virginia was just as formidable of an opponent, if not better, as any of the other teams that eliminated other national seeds.
They don’t need to be re-seeded.

In 2023 LSU had to play Wake Forest in game 2. Everyone thought Wake & LSU were the two best teams going into the CWS. It didn’t matter, we still had to beat them 2 out of 3.to get to the Finals. Didn't matter when we had to do it.

Same for this year, Arkansas and LSU, are most likely going to have to win twice against one another. Does it really matter if it’s in the CWS Finals or not?

I guess you missed his little rant that went on for 20 pages about LSU.
