1999 wasn’t more than 6 years old my dad took me to see us play Auburn. We got a pick six on the first play and I thought the stadium was going to collapse. Too bad for me I was getting started at the end of our era

1966 season opener, our QB was guy named Steve Spurrier. First game at Florida Field, before it became the Swamp.

For me, it was when I was in the third grade and attended Norm Stewart's basketall camp. What an amazing experience.

My parents brought me to home games before my first birthday. This is actually a true story (according to my father), we had seats on the very top row of the stadium. There was a hurricane fence that all the men used to stand up and lean against to let the women and children sit. I was told that they used to change my diaper in the stands and throw it over the fence.

My first recollection of college football was the 60 or 61 Sugar Bowl. Ole Miss beat Rice on a rollout to the left by Jake Gibbs to seal the win. My Dad went to State so I can remember listening to Jack Crystil on the radio. Was always a State fan but I was weird that I had years where I really like Ole Miss too. Primarily, the Archie years. I didn't root against them as most State fans do until Billy Brewer. He turned me against any success Ole Miss had.

Late 70s, the eastern edge of the Missouri Ozarks near the Bootheel and the Arkansas border.
Super conservative religious upbringing so no TV. Listened to the Mizzou games on the local AM radio affiliate. Listened to “Sports Open Line” from KMOX out of St. Louis once evening came and the terrestrial signal bumped up.
Mizzou football - good, bad, ugly, is home.

I went to elementary school with Hokie Gajan's little brother, so besides listening to the games on the radio, I got to hear about him at school too.

I listened on the radio as a kid in the 1960s.
Pretended to be Sullivan to Beasley in the yard.
Had a 7 shirt.
Went to Chattanooga at Auburn game in 1973 with an alum uncle.
Got to go to Auburn a few more times before I went to college.
I guess I picked Auburn and Auburn picked me.

Mid 70s would be my earliest recollection of following Mizzou. My Dad was an alum - so we always paid attention to it, listened on the radio as much as we could as most games were not yet televised. First game I specifically recall was the 1978 Liberty Bowl vs LSU, I was 10. It was on TV and we watched with our extended family during our Christmas get together (was not actually on Christmas).
My Dad was a farmer so going anywhere (especially 3 hours away) was not in the cards because fall was harvest time. He finally broke down and took us when my oldest brother was a Freshman in 1980 (we blew out Colorado 45-7). I was mesmerized by the whole scene. The band, the cheers, cheerleaders, golden girls, the stadium, the game,... even the drunken/passed out students were interesting to me! I was hooked from that point forward.
I missed very few games while I was there in the 80s/90s - I wish the football team would have showed up to a few of those. I go to as many as I can now.

Probably when I was five or six in the mid-60’s. Dad went to Jax State but was a bit of an AU fan while mom was all Bama. The first football jersey I ever had was an AU one that dad got…didn’t really go with the Bama helmet that I already had.

1967 for me....Watched Tennessee vs Oklahoma Orange bowl on tv. I was 10.

1981 Hall of Fame bowl on New Year’s Eve, beat Kansas 10-0. I want to say it was rainy and a little cold. Bond was the MVP.

1998, 4 years old I attended my first game against UGA I think. Got my picture in the paper at 7 in 2001 when Florida came to town and whooped our asses. I really got hooked around 2009 and I got a massive gamecock football dopamine hit (interspersed with incredible pain, thanks Marquez North. In fact I’m pretty sure more gamecock fans remember that guy than Vols fans.) over the next 4 years that I’ve been jonesing for ever since and I don’t think will happen under Beamer.
