Pretty much born into it. I remember my cousin had an Auburn shirt when I was about 8 and I was like “Auburn? They’re no good.” “Why would you wear an Auburn shirt?” He was older than me and informed me that Auburn at the time, and historically, was indeed better than MSU. 9 year old me refused to comprehend and was not swayed. I still stand by 9 year old me’s decision.

‘67 Arkansas-Texas at War Memorial …. not my first ever game, but my first real CFB experience with tailgating, marching bands, cheerleaders, and tradition. I was hooked.
Lots of good CFB experiences since then …. more than I can count …. but I regret to say the game is hardly recognizable the more time passes.

First time I saw Roger Staubach play. I was a Tennessee A&I (now State) fan before because my uncle played there.

My parents are Tennessee fans, but I grew up in Arkansas. I was a default Vols fan for a while until I realized I'd never even set foot in Knoxville and my home is here. That was when I was about 13 or 14.

I was born into a big Alabama family. Grew up watching games with my dad but I started really getting invested into recruiting around ‘06/‘07ish so I feel like my true fandom started then. Saban definitely spoiled every Bama fan but I will always feel extra spoiled because he came to Bama right when my love for college football took off. I would’ve loved to have went to Bama but I wanted to play college baseball and sadly wasn’t good enough to play there haha. Had a pretty successful college career elsewhere and way less debt so it all worked out.

I was literally born on campus (University Hospital, OKC). Both my parents were big fans. One of my earliest memories is attending a game.

The day I was born back in the early 80's, I was a Saints and Tigers fan.
I missed most of the 2001 season living in NY and the aftermath of 9/11. I caught the sugar bowl and had no idea how that Illinois team had made it to a bcs bowl.
I liked the core of the team from the 2002 season, even though I'd moved to north Dallas just in time to watch the VY coming out party in the cotton bowl. Living in Texas and having that game against the Longhorns, at that time when so much was going on in my life, really got me back into college football.
Haven't missed much since.

My dad used to make me watch GA games with him back in the 90’s when we were pretty bad. He’d have Larry Munson up on the radio which was only slightly out of sync with the TV back in those days.
Then when I was a teenager in the early 2000’s, he bought me NCAA Football 2002 on the PS2 and I was sold. But I’d say my definitive fan moment was when GA beat Tennessee in Knoxville in 2001. The game with the “Hobnail Boot” moment.
