I don't even care about that Citadel game. There's been way more meaningful games that were tougher losses.
Florida 17-16 in 2005 or 2006... when Jarvis Moss should not have even been playing for instance, blocked the extra point but also Succop's would have been game winning FG.
I wasn't alive... so not for me anyway.

Anything other than the 1980 Georgia game is wrong, but that is ancient history to most of you.

That was some BS, but justice won out in the end. It was too bad that it had to be Bama. Florida would have ANNIHILATED Texas.

The 21-0 national Championship LSU loss to Bama was the worst coaching beat down in the history of college football in my opinion. LSU had better players and Nick Saban's gameplan and humiliation of Les Miles showed me truly that Miles was winning on talent alone. I hate that he ended up at Alabama but I will always appreciate what Saban started at LSU. Now if we can just get a coach that can use all the talent we get.

21-0 wasnt that tough of a loss. It was pretty much over halfway through the 4th quarter. the tough ones are losing on the last play of the game

Eh, 21-0 was bad, but Bama fans may be shocked that I am gonna say there is another LSU/Bama game that sickened me more. I say this because I honestly felt no one could have beaten Bama twice in 2011. Equally, I think no one would have beaten LSU twice that year. Bama got the better end of the deal.
When the #1 ranked LSU defense gave up 300 yards rushing to Beard and Williams which allowed Bama to walk away with a 31-0 victory. Watching that game was torture. Every single running play worked for Bama.
Another that ranks equal is 1994's game with Auburn. Five 4th quarter interceptions was sickening to watch.

Boise State was embarrassing more than anything...
Georgia was painful...
But there is no doubt that the toughest OU loss in history was the 1971 game against Nebraska. It was at home...it was the last of a serious of Games of the Century in the mid to late '60s and early '70s....
I don't even think the Georgia loss was as soul crushing as that '71 loss to Nebraska was.... but of course you would have had to been alive to be able to appreciate it.

I think TCU was third in the BCS polls, then Cincinnati. Cincinnati playing for the Natty would have been worse. I mean, Florida DESTROYED Cincinnati.

Another one that was close was the Earthquake game. We win that, we play Holtz and ND for the Natty and I think our defense would have destroyed them. Probably cost us a Natty.

Nope. 2012 SECCG. Part of me is still standing in front of that TV at my grandparents’ house trying to process that finish. No sports loss ever gave me quite that dead inside feeling before or since.

1. I think OU’s worst loss is the 1978 Orange Bowl. Losing 31-6 when you were an 18 pt. favorite and a win likely claims a national title is pretty tough to swallow.
2. I think the 1987 Fiesta Bowl was worse for Miami. Lost with literally triple the yardage of PSU due to turnovers. If they had played a clean game that night and won, they would be a frequent mention for GOAT status. They had an exceptional amount of NFL talent and overall balance for the time period. They just blew it.
